( Y/N's P.O.V.)
I arrive at the train station. The people in the train kept on giving me strange looks. That is probably due to the fact that I'm wearing bloomer pants.
"All Aboard!!!"
I heard the conductor say as he yells on the outside of the train. As I trek down the steps of the train while looking at my new surroundings. I witness many people bustling around the station looking for their baggage or boarding the train. I secure my small bag of things as I search for the baggage claim area. I look around more as I bump into people on accident.
"Oof!"
An old woman exclaims as I see her fall down on her bum.
"Oh! I'm very sorry madam. Let me help you."
I apologized as I supported her back and help her stand up. Suddenly she smacks my hands away from her body and glares at me with irritation.
"Just what are you doing young lady!"
I look back at the old lady in surprise of her attitude towards me.
"I'm very sorry madam, but I was just looking for my baggage. Can you point me to the right direction towards it?"
The old lady looks down to my bloomer pants. " Perhaps if you started dressing like a lady..." she said in a disgusted voice clearly outraged with my choice of wardrobe.
" Pardon? What was that madam?" I said, clearly offended.
The old lady leaves shaking her head at me, but I just brush it off.
'So many ignorant people these days.' I thought
I spot a bench in the crowd and sit down while I wait for my baggage number to be called. In the mean time, I write a letter.
Dear Arthur, my love,
I have arrived in Philadelphia safe and sound. As a female, I am very surprised by the lack of women representation here. But that is not what this letter is about. A women delegate is indeed necessary.
I have high hopes for this upcoming convention! I am certain that the people will do a good job in revising the Article of Confederation. I am sure of that. I know what this country is capable of. So indeed, I am terribly exited for this upcoming historical date.
With Much Love,
(Y/N) Kirkland,
Your loving wife.
As I sign the last of the letter, I seal it in an envelope and carefully stuff it inside a pocket of my little satchel.
'I have to look for a messenger to send this to Arthur. Hopefully I can find one before my meeting' I thought as I run to my baggage.
My baggage number is called, then, I take my baggage from the stack of other luggages on top of a cart. I made my way outside the train station and into the beautiful town looking for messengers to send this letter to my awaiting husband at home. I spot a messenger boy standing on top of a box yelling out to people.
" Is anyone in need of my delivery services?! I can deliver your letters and messages to friends, family, and anyone else it needs to go to!!"
I quickly make my way to him.
"Young man, can you please deliver this to my husband?" I delicately hand him the letter.
" Yes ma'm. It'll be my pleasure. That will be 5 bronze pieces. What are the coordinates miss?"
I hand him the coordinates and watch him go out of the town.
'I pray that this letter will make it to you, dear husband...'
