I was sitting in my favorite couch, everything was falling apart. I sat there waiting for what felt like eternity. My future is over. It was dark and the only thing that kept me awake was the lamp light above my head giving me light. She was wailing and furious. I could hear the drawers and cabinets slam. She is packing her clothes, she is leaving. My fiancée is leaving, she doesn't love me anymore. The way she sees me, it's just sad. Her love wasn't forever, what have I done to her.

I still remember the day I proposed to her. It was her smile that stood among all the girls in town. She didn't cry when I proposed to her, it felt awkward because she looked odd with her smile, as if she never wanted to marry me. She said "YES" with a high-pitched voice. I still love her, she made me anew. I thought we were forever, but we never were.

I love it when Sunday comes, we would be sitting at a bench in the park, happily eating our lunch. You could hear the birds chirp and the wind gust. We would have some blueberry cupcake and coffee after we ate lunch. I thought our love would be like a blueberry cupcake, which is our favorite dessert, sweet and fluffy our love could have been. Like a coffee hot and tender. I would chase her in the bed of flowers. She would laugh out loud; we would smile together and look at each other. Then kiss like there is no tomorrow, but that's what I felt, I don't know if she felt the same.

The first time I laid my eyes on her we were at school. She was new and gained popularity immediately. I never did doubt to be her boyfriend. She was my first crush and I thought my last. I really liked her. The smell of her hair, I just can't resist it. The way she makes me happy, it's just wonderful. I am going to miss her. I will never forget her.

It was the Fourth of July. The atmosphere was fantastic, everyone was dancing and chatting, they were all filled with joy. I looked for her and found her climbing on a ladder. She was trying to hang the lamplight from the rope. She needed help; she can't hang the lamp light because the rope was out of her reach. I was taller than her; I know I can hang it. I was a coward. I was afraid she might notice me, but I never let my fear engulf me. I ran and helped her, "I'd love to help you miss." I said. She was shocked because I ran to her, she hold my shoulders and said, "You handsome devil, you scared me! Oh thanks that would be lovely." We hanged the lamp light and we accidentally fell off on a bundle of hay. I found her blushing then she smiled at me.

"Cornelia", she said.

"I know. I'm Josh by the way, glad to meet you."

"It's nice to meet you too. Thanks for helping me."

"Do you want to dance?"

"I'd be honored."

I brushed off the hay from my denim pants and she brushed hers. The night was magical. She also asked me to have lunch with her at school the next day that night. It felt like a fairytale story, just like Snow White finding her prince. Sometimes in life we just have to take risks because everything is uncertain. We became friends and then I asked her out, she said yes. She wants to leave me because she didn't like me. She said I changed, but I never did. Time passed and she won't answer my calls, she didn't reply to my texts, she even hesitated to go on dates with me and sum it up with doubtful reasons.

I wish time would rewind and I would fix everything. Everything turned into a nightmare, oh how I wish it was just a bad dream. My fiancée is leaving me. She's done packing. She went down the stairs, sobbing. She looked at me and said, "Bye, I'm going. Everything is just different, I don't think we should be together, here's the ring. I am really sorry.", then she left. I'm all alone; tears are running down on my cheeks. I live a sad life. I never regretted every single day I spent with her.Back to square one, where I started as i sit here brokenhearted. I'm deserted in my house, sitting in my favorite couch under the old and dusty lamp light that we hanged on the Fourth of July.
