*Dan POV*
"DANIEL WAKE UP ITS TIME FOR SCHOOL" my mom shouted up the stairs as my eyes forced themselves open. I could feel my body begging to stay in bed and never leave. After a minute or two of not wanting to get up, I finally dragged myself out of bed and into the shower. Getting out, I wrapped the fluffy bath towel around myself and dried off.
It was the first day of school but I knew there was nobody to impress. I've gone to the same High School for three years already, why try and Impress all the people I can't stand and have already made impressions on. I finally decided on a pair of stone-washed denim jeans, a wolf shirt, and my grey hoodie.
As I entered the kitchen a heavenly smell of bacon and hash browns tempted my nose.
"I made your favourite lovey, for your first day of your senior year!" my mom said with too much enthusiasm for this time of morning. "Thanks mom" I mumbled sleepily. I scarfed down my breakfast, hardly tasting it. All I could think was 'Just put up with it Dan, one more year. Just one more year Dan'.
"You ready to go?" my mom asked. I nodded, put on my denim jacket, grabbed my bag, and headed out the door to the car. When I got to school I headed to the office to grab my time table. English, Math, Science, Music. Ew.
"DAN!" I heard a voice yell from behind me. I spun around to see my friend Ralph. Best friend Ralph.
"Hey Ralph! Missed you buddy" I did miss him. I didn't see him much over the summer. I'd mostly stayed in my room writing songs all summer and Ralph went on vacation for a few weeks.
"How've you been? How was your summer?" He asked
" I've been alright, didn't do much, songwriting. The usual" I said
Ralph and I had Music together, thank god. Ralph was one of the only people in our school with decent music taste. He's pretty talented too. Although I wasn't looking forward to being alone in all my other classes.
"Well I better be off, see you in music?" He said. I nodded and we parted ways.
I walked into my English class , I was the second one there. Another girl who was in a few of my previous classes was sat in the front row. I took a seat in the back corner, away from everyone else. After a few minutes, most of the class flooded in. One girl sat in front of me, and the desk beside me was empty.
The teacher started on, talking about the books we would be reading this term, and how we would have to keep up with homework. There was a knock at the door, the teacher opened and in walked the school's guidance councilor.
"Hello everyone, I hope you all enjoyed your summer holidays, sorry to interrupt Ms, this is a new student joining us, His name is Matty. I hope you all will welcome him to our school". Holy fuck. He was hot. Like really hot. He had longish black hair with the sides shaved. He wore black skinny jeans, a white t-shirt, and a black leather jacket over top.
"Welcome Matty, you haven't missed much so far, why don't you take a seat.. oh erm.." said the teacher, looking for a seat for him. "Ah right over there in the back, by Daniel."
Oh my god. He sat down in the desk next to me and dropped his backpack next to the desk. He looked over at me.
"Hi, I'm Dan" I said warmly. He looked at me with a very annoyed face, then looked back straight a head.
I had nobody in my other classes. Then finally to music where at least I would have Ralph. I sat at the back of the class, as per usual. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket.
Hey buddy, I'm really sorry. Had to drop music for advanced functions :( - Ralph x
Well fuck.
"Alright class let's start." The teacher said as he went to close the door. He turned around and not even a second later there was a knock at the door
"Ah hello you must be Matty, I understand you're still learning your way around here but lets not make a habit of being late" said The Teacher.
And of course Matty sat next to me. So instead of my best friend here is some obnoxious jerk. A really really hot obnoxious jerk.
"Hi" He mumbled "I'm Matty"
"And he speaks" I whispered sarcastically.
"Sorry about earlier, I figured I should make atleast one friend here, and you're the only one that gave me the time of day" he said.
"It's fine I guess." I mumbled.
He let out a faint smile. We didn't talk for the rest of the class.
