The sun was powerful and beated down on Alaina hard like a drum. As she ran down the familiar streets to her friends house she saw happy couples stroll hand in hand by her she blasted her music on her iPod up louder and kept running.
Her dazzling Caribbean blue eyes looked around as she got near Ascle'es house. She turned onto the street corner and stopped abruptly almost getting hit by a truck.
Her temper rose as she kicked the trucks tire and yelled profanities at the driver not seeing who it was.
She didn't waste time and took off running taking her anger out on every step she made soon arriving to her friends house.
She waited for Ascle to open the door moving strands of her raven black hair and a couple of blue strands from her highlights behind her ear.
Finally Ascle opened the large hickory doors and grinned down at her 5'7 figure she smiled and looked at him examining her odd friend.
His black hair spiked to perfection, his teeth neatly straight and white.
He has honey colored eyes that bored into her sparkling blue ones his eyes filled with intelligence and wisdom.
He had his shirt wrinkle free and his shirt collar neatly pressed and skinny jeans that were ironed and neat.
He also had clean new converses, but she soon stopped examining him because she was picked up and put onto his shoulder and they started going inside.
"Ascle what are you doing?!"
She said in her usual Australian accent questioning him as he chuckled
"Well since you seemed to busy examining me I decided to bring you in or you would just stay there standing."
He said and sat her down on the couch and sat on the ottoman across from her.
The words sank in and a light blush crept up to her cheeks then he started laughing.
"Ey it's not funny at all!" She said but couldn't help to smile a bit
They kept talking and later Alaina looked out the window and saw it was already dark out.
Her eyes widen and she stands up.
"Ascle it's getting late and it's already dark out I think I should leave especially since we have school tomorrow."
He stands up and has a slight frowns he smiles reassuringly
"We can see each other at school tomorrow and hang after school"
she smiles and looks into his eyes, he smiles and also looks at her then they walk out the door to the front porch
"See you!" She says and starts running, waving back to him he smiles
"See ya!" He calls back she was already running towards the towns local pool which stayed open
'Right now it should be all alone' she thought to herself, but as soon as she got closer she could see someone was there.
Alaina was at the gate of the pool staring curiously at the woman.
The woman was fully clothed the only thing you could see was her head.
"Uh ello?" Says Alaina and the woman turns around and stares at Alaina with her pure black bird looking beady eyes.
Just by staring at her the woman sent unpleasant shivers down Alaina's spine.
"I have been expecting you." She says in a low but croaky voice
"Me? Um sorry, but I don't know you maybe you've mistaken me for someone else."
She says cautiously walking back towards the pools gate, but the woman lifts her hand up and the gate closes shut.
Alaina's eyes widen wide and the woman cackles evilly and loudly.
"Oh you stupid mortal, to think your the unique only daughter of Poseidon. Hmm I wonder what I could get for ransom."
She smirks and Alaina's eyes fill with confusion as the words went into her mind.
"Your crazy Poseidon is just a myth!" Says Alaina
"Oh so you haven't met your daddy?"
Says the woman and jumps up into the air and her clothing falls off revealing a birds body with large wings and giant talons the only human characteristic was her head.
Alaina had heard of these mythological creatures in her Roman and Greek mythology class they're named Harpies.
The monster moved fast and put her claws around Alaina's neck and pinned her against the black iron gate.
"I wonder if he would give me his trident for you?" She smirked as her talons were hurting Alaina's neck
"Leave her be Harper or I will kill you with no mercy!" Said a familiar voice behind Alaina
"One day you won't be able to protect her Chiron and she'll be mine!" Said the monster dropping Alaina and flew off.
Alaina runner her neck as she stood up and saw who had helped her and it was someone who she defiantly did not expect.
It was her mythology teacher Mr.Carter!?
