He stood hidden in the shadows watching her, her sultry voice filling the entire Blue's and Soul club. Smoke filled the air and the voices of the patrons in the club sounded like a distant murmur in his ears. He was completely enveloped by her presence. Just looking at her made his heart race, he felt alive when he was close to her. His life finally had meaning because of her.

"Jason Ward...that you man?" Lionel said to his childhood friend. They rarely saw each other now. Back when they were kids there was a time when they were inseparable.

"Lionel, hey man." Jason replied pulling his gaze away from Daniella but just for a second. Her voice was that of a siren's song to him. He could smell her, taste her scents literally from miles away. She made his blood pump violently.

"Gosh, how long has it been. I see your hair is still growing." Lionel said taking a jab at his old friend. When Jason didn't reply, he quickly realized something else had his attention. He followed Jason's gaze and saw he was mesmerized by Daniella the songstress. He wasn't the only guy though almost every man in that club had their eyes pinned on her. She was a stunning woman, mysterious but beautiful. Her delicate, brown skin seemed to twinkle and glisten under the stage lights. He waist was ever so tiny accentuated by the deep red corset dress she had on. Her hips filled out the dress bringing out her elegant figure. Her long black thick curls fell in waves onto her shoulder.

"I didn't know Cherokee listened to Soul music..." Lionel said again to Jason, this time though Jason had him and chuckled in response.

"I see you haven't changed one bit." Jason retorted with a huge grin on his face. He pulled his long straight black hair out of his face. He needed to get rid of Lionel. He was running out of time. Tomorrow he was going to officially take his father's place as the new leader of his people.

"Look I have to go..." Jason said To Lionel trying to brush past him but Lionel caught Jason's arm keeping him in place.

"You do know what she is right...our kind don't mix with yours..." Lionel said menacingly to Jason looking him straight in the eye. Lionel was not as tall as Jason but he was not worried or intimidated by Jason's broad shoulders and toned body. He might be smaller in stature but Lionel knew he could hold his own against him.

Jason could feel his rage rising to the surface. He hated people telling him what to do. He locked eyes with Lionel and let out a hot breath. He needed to stay in control. he couldn't loose his temper here, not now. There was too much at stake. The sound of applause and whistling rang out in the club, bringing the two men out of their trance like state.

"Thank you ladies and gentlemen...y'all are too kind. I will let our lovely band entertain y'all for a while..." Daniella said into the microphone. For a split second her eyes met Jason's. She winked ever so slightly and looked away just as fast.

"No problem here man...I was just leaving." Jason said to Lionel lifting his hands up in surrender and walking away. Lionel kept staring at him, he wanted to make sure he left, the likes of him weren't welcome here.

Jason ran through the forest like a man possessed, but he had to keep his wolf under control. He was using its speed and strength to get to where he needed to be. His legs carried him across like a man possessed.
