*FLASHBACK*
"Rose Beth, please report to the office."
What this time? Focus on school, do your work, how am I supposed to do that when I am called down every two freaking seconds?I make way down to the office and notice my best friend, Spencer, walk out the office with her head down and I'm pretty sure tears in her eyes. She looks up and sees my presence and starts full on sobbing while running straight across from me.
What is happening? I continue to walk to the office and see everyone's eyes lay on me. I stand there uncertain about what to do. The old office administrator hands me a phone and I put it to my ear hesitantly.
"Hello? Rose?"
A woman speaks through the phone with a slight Australian accent.
"Yes?"
My feelings confused, I listen.
"Just two hours ago, your parents were in an accident–"
My heart drops to my stomach. What is going on?"What happened Mrs?"
I didn't even notice I was whispering.
"Your Mommy and Daddy got hit by a car sweetie. Everything will be alright though. Don't you worry–"
No, no, no, no, no.This isn't real. I drop the phone and run out of the office. I quickly run to the exist door out of my school.
I don't realize where I am going until I run into a cop.
"Where're you going love?"
The man asks.
"Away from here."
Why won't he let me go? He takes my hand and tells me to enter his car. I do as told and wait for him to take me away. Soon I realize he's taking me to my best friends house. We enter her house and the familiar scent of blueberry muffins enter my nose. Spencer's mom comes out of the living room with a tissue in her hand. Her nose red and stuffy I could tell she cried.
"Ms. Silvy? What's going on?"
I run up to her and hug her.
"It's alright sweetie, you're fine here. You'll stay with me."
I nod while looking up to her tall, skinny figure."You're not alone honey."
She reminds me. Somehow I knew that was a lie.
