Hopeful Hearts

Chapter 2

I silently follow Kikyo's lead taking the spot across from her at the table her eyes darting towards Kagome and Sango before coming back to look at me. 

"Tell your peasants to leave, I want to talk to you one on one." 

My mouth hangs open a little stunned at how forward she is but I do as I'm told. 

"Kagome, Sango you are excused." They both bow before taking their leave, Kagome sending me a reassuring smile before shutting the door behind her.

Turning back to Kikyo she speaks seriously. "I have some ground rules to speak to you about concerning our marriage." 

I raise an eyes brow. "Ok?" 

"First we will never be sharing a bed. I don't like that idea, I will always have my own room got it?" I nod. "Second I'm a vegan and I expect you to adapt to that eating style right away." I scowl but before I can object she's yapping again. "Thirdly I do not believe in casual intercourse we will only be doing such for the soul purpose of procreating." She stops and eyes me again before continuing. "And if you're a real man we will not have to have intercourse more than once since I only want one child." 

The idea of having "intercourse" with her makes my stomach churn so I can't help but agree to that one. "Yeah, fine but I ain't-" Before I can voice my complaints I feel my Father's hand upon my shoulder. 

"I see you two are having a nice chat." His smile feels fake to me as Kikyo begins to stand. 

"Yes we have, I've said all I needed to for today and I'm going to my room, InuYasha?" I turn to her. "Remember what I told you, you have a lot of changing to get done." She turns and makes her way out of the room my Father walking by her side as I shot daggers at her with my eyes.

I can't believe she just said all that shit to me, where the hell does she get off speaking to me like that and demanding stupid shit like that!

As my anger boils I make my way upstairs to my room flopping down upon my bed lazily.

Suddenly I realize Kagome isn't with me so I make my way towards my bookcase (which doubles as a secret passage way down to the helpers rooms) pushing it aside I make my way down the many stairs until I make it to Kagome's door. "Kagome you in there?"

"Yup come in!" I open the door seeing Kagome sitting on her bed smiling at me as I shut the door before joining her. 

"So? How'd it go?" 

I scowl. "How do you think it went?" 

"Horribly?" 

I nod. "Bingo. She is horrible an I don't like the way she spoke to you calling you a peasant like that." 

She shrugs. "It's not that big of a deal InuYasha a lot of royal people look at us as peasants you're the weird one for treating us so well." She let's out a little giggle before realizing my serious expression. "Oh come on is that all you're mad about?" 

"No! That was just the start after you left it got a lot worse, trust me.." 

"Well what did she say? Spit it out." 

"She told me her rules for our marriage." 

A confused look crosses Kagome's face. "Rules? What rules did she have for you?"

 I sigh. "Well firstly she said we will never share a bed which I'm actually really happy about but then she said I have to become a vegan because she's one." 

Kagome starts to laugh which only annoys me further. 

"What are you laughing about!?" 

She stills her laughter before answering.
