Saving Severus.

Chapter 4: Severus Snape

I woke up. I looked around and got up. I was in my night gown. My cheeks turned red. I realized that he had to have changed me last night. I walked out the room and seen Snape looking in my journal. "Hey! That's mine!"

"You can draw very nicely."

"Um, thanks."

I tried to take the journal away. He quickly snatched it away from me. "I want it back!"

"No!"

"Why?"

"Because I want it!"

"Why do you want it?"

"No reason."

I rolled my eyes and sat down next to him. "Do you ever sleep?"

"That's none of your concern." he said sharply.

"Fine."

It was Saturday so we could take a break. He looked over at me. "Why do you wear a night gown?"

"Its all I have."

"If I had something warmer, would you wear it?"

"Yeah."

He walked up to his room and came our with a black hoodie and black pants. "Here." I took it and took my gown off. "You're not afraid to take that off in front of me?"

"I trust you."

"You... trust me?"

"Yes. You're my friend aren't you?"

"Friend?"

"Yes."

"I haven't had a friend since..."

"Since when?"

"Never mind."

It was Christmas holiday and I was not going home. I didn't really even have a home to go to. Snape was keeping an eye on me. Every time I turned around, he was there. "Why are you following me?"

"I'm not! I'm just... making sure you... don't get in to trouble."

"I'm not buying that. Listen, are you trying to keep me safe or something?"

"I might, and I might not be."

I giggled. I walked off and he followed. I was walking around the corridors. I looked back and seen he was gone.

I went down to Hagrid's for some tea. I arrived and knocked on the door. "Who is it?"

"Minx."

He quickly opened the door. "Come in, you'll catch your death out here."

I walked in. "What did you come here about?"

"Are you hiding something? The 3rd floor is forbidden and you went to get something when I was getting my school supplies. "I might be." he froze. "I shouldn't have said that."

"What are you hiding?"

"Nothing of your concern! It's top secret."

"Okay, well I better be off."

"Goodnight Minx."

"Goodnight Hagrid."

I went on my way back to the castle. When I got back, I snuck into the 3rd floor room. I closed the door and I felt a force push me. It was air. I turned around to see a 3 headed dog. It was looking at me. "Hi doggy" I said nervously. It stood up and I seen what it was sitting on. It was a trap door. I quickly opened the door and ran out. I took a deep breath and ran to my dorm.

Snape was walking to the dorm when I ran into him. "Where have you been!"

"Sorry..."

"I've been worried sick about you!"

"Why?"

"Get in the dorm!" I did as he said and sat on the couch. "You are not to just disappear like that ever again!"

"Sorry"

"Go to bed. Now!"

I looked at him with a stern look. His look pierced through my chest. I got up and went to my room. I laid down and closed my eyes. I heard footsteps enter. "Are you still awake?"

"I just laid down, of course I'm still awake."

"Do you want to know why I'm watching out for you?"

"Yes."

"I don't want you cutting your self. You don't know much about me, but I was a cutter too. I bet you don't even know my first name."

"No I don't."

"I'm Severus Snape."

"Severus?"

"Yes. I was picked on when I came here too."

"By who?"

"Kids."

He sat on the bed. He looked at me, he smiled. "You look like your mother."

I smiled. "Can you stay in here tonight?"

"Why?"

"I'm starting to feel dark things around me. I would feel safer if someone I trusted was here with me."

"It's against the rules, but if you're scared, I'll stay in here with you."

It started raining after a few minutes. Severus slept in the other bed. He was just laying there silent, but awake. I was just laying there and I could here voices. They were saying things that I didn't want to hear. Things about Severus, things about Hagrid, things about Dumbeldore, things about the other Professors that I cared about. A crack of lighting struck the school and the power went out. It was led by a loud monstrous bang. I jumped up and screamed. "It's okay!" I jumped out of bed, with my teddy bear, and jumped beside Severus. I wrapped his arms around me and comforted me. "The voices, they are saying horrible things!"

"What voices?"

"I can hear them!"

"Shhh."

He rubbed my head and sort of cradled me. "It's okay Minx."

I breathed slowly and closed my eyes. My face was covered in tears after hearing the awful things the voice said. I was crying into his cloak again and I eventually fell asleep.
