I felt the needle pierce my skin, a droplet of blood forming, gradually growing as more of the warm, crimson liquid oozed out. Yet, it didn't matter. How many times had this happened now?
"These will help you stay alive." So? I'm not meant to keep living. Master had said so. They knew my flaws. So, why keep me alive? They already were growing new ones, yet, they treated me like I mattered. I didn't. I wasn't what they wanted. They wanted a non-sentient, flawless weapon. My flaws were obvious, major being emotion. At least they'll know to fix that. Then, I heard a clicking noise. Baring my teeth and claws, I crept towards the sound. Peeking in, I saw it. A boy with black skin, emerald eyes, patches of orange fur, and bronze horns. Their lower half was that of a serpent. I leaned closer, their ears twitching, before they looked at me. A smile grew on their face as they slivered towards me. Smile? Flaw.
"Hello! I'm Serox, pleasure to meet you!" He greeted, his voice hiss-like. Pleasure? Flaw.
"You ok, Ma'am?" Concern? Flaw. He has the same flaws! Who do I go to? Creators, or Master? Luckily, I never had to choose. Creator Sean approached.
"Look! You have a friend now!" He exclaimed joyfully. Friend? Weakness. Weakness? Flaw.
"What's the matter Mirry?" He asked, seeing the less than impressed look in my eyes. I wasn't sure wether to be honest or not. If I argue, he could tell Master, then I would get punished for being uncooperative. They never had, but they could. Sighing, I decided to be honest.
"First of all, Master named me EX-M1, not Mirandak. Second, the next creation isn't supposed to be a 'friend'. They're meant to be an improvement. Yet, he has the same flaws," I explained, trying to block out the feeling of pain. The pain that always came upon acknowledging my flaws.
"Flaws? What flaws?" He asked, concern obvious in his grey eyes."Emotion! Sentence, kindness, joy!" I growled, the emotion seeping out. I immediately regretted shouting. I was getting punished for sure. I fell silent, swallowing the fear. His response startled me.
"The emotion is what makes you a person," he stated softy, my reply being a low grumble."We aren't people, we're weapons."
"Don't ever think of yourself like that. Maybe that's what Kai wanted you to be, but you're not. You're like our child. My child," he explained, smiling sweetly at me. He was always the one who cared for me the most, always describing me like his child, and telling me I can always go to him. Sighing, I turned away.
Then, something smooth grazed across my bare skin. I looked to see scales of many different browns. Then, orange fur came into view. It was silky and soft. Finally, it remained still, wrapping firmly around me. Not trapping me; just squeezing comfortingly. Serox patted a section of his fur, as if telling me to lay on it, seeing as I couldn't move my legs very much. I placed my head onto it, my head enveloped by the soft surface. It felt incredible. I couldn't help but smile, snuggling into it, quietly purring. Then, I felt him rest his head in the fur of my tail, which I had curled up to myself. I didn't mind, feeling myself dozing off.
-Time skip-
"You shall be referred to as EX-S2," Master stated to Sero-... EX-S2. He tried to ask questions, and was close to being punished, until I stepped in.
"Master," I bowed my head respectfully, "I'll teach him how things work around here.""Good. Get started!" He ordered, dismissing us.
Silently sighing at EX-S2's behaviour, I lead him away.
"Rule 1, don't argue with Master..."
