Chapter 16

Zach's POV (That's when you know shit is real)

    "Bro I can't believe you are about to kick off your tour here, I am so proud of you" Nick tells me. I am starting off my tour here and I am really excited. Everything is going good for me, I've got great friends to support me, and I have my beautiful girlfriend (Ariel). What more do I need. I kept on thinking about this when my thoughts were interrupted with a knock at the door.

    I opened the door and it was my mom. She was crying and could not let the words she was trying to say come out. "Mom? What's going on?" I asked her

"It's Madison...sh-she is being rushed to the hospital as we speak, we have to go" She tells me crying even harder. I couldn't move, I couldn't speak. All I could think about was if this is my fault.

Skip to hospital

   I walk in the doors with my mom by my side. We go to the front counter and tell the lady who we are here for. "Apryll and Zach Clayton here for Madison" my mom managed to say. 

The lady typed a couple things on her computer and then said, "Have a seat in the waiting room, and a doctor will come out to tell you guys what is going on" I replied with a, "Thank You" and walked with my mom over to the chairs. 

An hour later

  "WHAT THE FUCK IS TAKING SO LONG" I yell.

"Zach, calm down they could be coming out any minute"

"NO, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CALM DOWN WHEN I DON"T EVEN KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO HER IN TH----" I was cut off by a doctor coming out and saying my name. I walking over to him.

"Is she okay!?!? Can I go and see her" I asked loudly

"Um, sir we have good and bad news" he said, "Good news is that Madison is out of surgery, she worked very well with us"

"That's great so we can go see her" my mom said 

"Yes, but the bad news is that she is a deep stage of coma. We don't know when she is gonna wake up, or if she is even going to wake up." He told us.

I can't believe this. My girlfr---. What do I even call her??? Someone that means a lot to me is lying down in a hospital bed, and cannot tell any of us what happened. 

"I just wanna see her" I said in a calmer voice. The doctor walked me and mom back to her room. Once he brought us to the door he told us to prepare ourselves before we go in, and then he walked away. I took a deep breath, twisted the door knob, pushed open the door, and walked in. The sight made my body feel light. She was pale. She looked so so pale. Lifeless. My mom ran over to her and started to cry again. Grasping onto her hand a repeating " Oh, baby girl what happened to you!". Hearing my mom scream those words brought me to tears as well. 

"Mads?" I said softly as I walked to the other side of the bed and grasped her other hand. "What happened baby" I said as I rested my head on our hands. I rocked my body back and forth. How could this be. Am I dreaming. "Wake up Zach, wake up" I kept on saying  but eventually it turned into me sobbing uncontrollably and screaming "Wake up Madison, wake up"

Back to the hotel

    I had to go back to the hotel because I needed to do  sound check for our performance later. I made my mom stay with Madison and I told her I would be right back after the performance. But I of course did not leave before putting a kiss on Madison's forehead.

I explained what happened to Madison to everyone, and everyone bawled their eyes out. We couldn't help it. She means a lot to all of us.

Skip to performance (sorry for all the skips)

   I walked out on stage and everyone was screaming and chanting my name. "Okay can everyone please be quiet I have an announcement to make." I told them nicely, "Sadly, Madison is not going to be performing tonight." I heard a whole bunch of boo's and screams and I felt so bad. "Madison is currently in the hospital in coma. We do not know when she will be waking up, but we will definitely keep all of you guys updated." I said tearing up. But I held back the tears and eventually started to perform. I did not want everyone to be sad so I had to lighten up the mood.

At the end of the night I went out to close the performance. "Thank you all for coming and we all hope to see you all soon." Then everyone came out and we all took a bow saying our goodbyes to everyone in the crowd" Everyone was screaming and clapping but I saw someone screaming for my attention in the front row. When I looked at her she kept on repeating, " I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO MADISON!"
