You moved towns. That's it. That's the thing that brought you together with the man, the myth, the legend. That was the thing that had you meet Mark face to face in a coffee shop.

That coffee shop was your job, a simple barista. And he, of the short statue and messy hair, was your customer. As you would bring him coffee he'd tip you extra. He'd leave small notes and doodles on the back of his receipt. He'd sketch bad cartoon memes on napkins and fold them into bad pentagrams.

At first you thought he had always done this, but as you talked to you co-workers you found he hadn't stopped by for longer than five minutes at a time before. Now, he'd spend half an hour a day there.

For such a short man, he had a deep voice. His arms were built and his comedy was layered in ways that you couldn't help but relate to. His glasses always sat so childishly on his eyes, and his warm skin begged to be touched. His videos left something to be desired, more of him. More of his 3D figure you were used to seeing watching you so subtly through the cafe.

Eventually, he left his phone number on the back of the receipt followed by your name.

"Call me when you're off of work so I can buy you the coffee for a change."

You had.

He had blown you away.

He took you on a date to the movies where he cautiously put his hand over yours, rubbing he back of your hand with his thumb as he got to know you.
