I shivered from the bitter cold knowing that my will to survive will soon be abated to nothing. I need to get as far away as possible or they will kill me too. I’m not strong enough to face them alone. Their eyes consumed with hate and anger. Their piercing howls and screams pushing my wolf forward. Tears streaming down my face as I remember all the family and friends I left behind. My brother had sacrificed his life in order for me to escape. No matter how much I argued, begged even, but he wouldn’t back down. He said that I was special, that I had something no other wolf had. He told me that it was prone to happen someday, that he knew they would come looking for me. He had something else to tell me but he didn’t get to finish as he was attacked from behind. He handed me a paper and forced me down the vent that lead outside.
Now here I am running, running away from home. And toward the only place I could. The only place I would be safe.
