GEORGE’S P.O.V.

I could picture her wavy, long hair, her pale complexion and her small body. I could make out every detail of her face.

“Fred, what should I do?”

I couldn’t be having feelings for Luna. She’s around three years younger than me, and she still has a year left at Hogwarts. Hermione and Harry were going back too; but Ron thought he would be better off without another year of school.

I stare at the stars in the dark sky. Little balls of life, and like everything else they too had to come to an end. It was sad thinking of things like that but I knew that some of the stars that I could see were dead already – it just took the light from the star to get to our planet a really long time. Like if you look at the sun you are actually looking eight minutes back in time, because it takes eight minutes for the light from the sun to get to Earth. You’re probably wondering how in Merlin’s name I know that, but out of me and Fred I was always the more mature one – the more academic one. I am not saying I am academically good at things because I am not – I was just better at it than Fred was. I wish I could turn back the time to our years at Hogwarts – go through the passage ways and sneak into the kitchens to get food for a party. See Dumbledore smiling over his half-moon spectacles as though he knew about our pranks, though when I think about it, maybe he did. I think he liked it, because we knew our limits and I think he knew that people would need cheering up. I missed everything about Hogwarts; well everything apart from DADA in our last year, when we were all stuck with Umbridge.

Suddenly I heard a rustle of the leaves and the wind started howling. I looked around but nothing seemed to be strange, well stranger than usual. I turned my head in all directions; up to the Burrow, down the lawn and over the fence but everything was still. Until I saw a shadow... a shadow with no living body to create it. The shadow moved up to me and stopped at my feet. Lethifold... was all that I thought before I tried to run away and into the Burrow but the shadow had a hold of my feet. I took out my wand, but before I could do anything I saw that the shadow had eyes; light blue eyes that bore into mine.

“FRED?” The shadow nodded, a tear slipped from my eyes however this time Fred caught it, “Dumbledore?” I whispered. Fred nodded again.

“He’s a great man!” I heard Fred’s voice and fell to my knees. “He saw you struggling, and he me struggling – even after I died! Well, he then done some rare magic and ... and now I can come down to you.” I looked up at the shadow knowing he was smirking. Fred always knew what I was thinking. I didn’t think dying was going to change that. “So, Luna huh?”

“Don’t you dare breathe a word about this to anyone?” I threatened.

“You’re threatening a dead guy? Don’t worry I cannot breath anyway!” this statement sent a shiver down my spine. Making me feel uneasy and guilty about what I just said. I changed the topic not wanting to say anything mean.

“You wanted to tell me something didn’t you? You kept popping up in my dreams, but you never told me.  It was you right?”

“Yes it was me, but it doesn’t matter now because I can come to you whenever I like.” I smiled at this and took Fred inside and to our room. Nothing has changed, just our beds were messed. Fred’s bed hadn’t been touched since the war; when he and I were making new products for Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes. Those were our last happy moments together. It was just before the Battle at Hogwarts.

I remember asking him if he was okay, and how we thought about life after the war. However deep down at the bottom of our hearts, we both knew something would stop us from doing what we did best...
