The car was silent as it was driven down the road. The three occupants inside were focused on the world going past them out the window. So close yet so far all at once. The buildings and the view of the water, it all just went by like nothing.
Behind the driver's seat, a dark eyed brunette with equally dark hair was gazing out the window. Her hand pressed against the glass as her pink lips were firmly pressed together. Her hair was in a frizzy mess and her eyes had light purple circles under them. Just under that, light freckles dotted her cheeks. She was a thick girl; not fat but she would be convinced of that.
She turned her head and looked to the other side of the car, smiling. She pushed her hair back, out of her face and pulled her feet up into the seat.
Across the seat, a girl with all the same features looked over at her. Her hair was the same amount as frizzy, if not more. Her eyes were the same shade of dark chocolate as they were settled in a steady glare. She had the same pink lips as well. She even had the freckles. She was clearly big boned and not ashamed of it either. This was represented in the short shorts she was dressed in with the low cut, spegehtii strapped top.
The other was dressed in a tee shirt and longer shorts. It couldn't be helped that these were the clothes that were left for them though.
"We're gonna love it here," the one in the low cut top said. Her American accent wasn't soothing but firm, as if letting her guard down in the slightest would cause a rift in her being. She took her gaze away from her twin as she took a hair tie from around her wrist and used it to tie her hair back, for the sole purpose of pulling it out of her face. "Wherever here is going to be." This time she was directing the statment to the driver.
She looked ahead, to the front of the vehicle, and looked at the driver. She didn't speak, but she did lean forward to try and catch a glimpse of his face. If she could just do that then-
She felt a slap on her arm. It was light and certainly not playful. She looked over at her sister and glared at her for a moment, then sat back like a fussy child. She crossed her arms over her chest and rolled her eyes.
"All I want is to know what's going on," she muttered lowly, but the car was otherwise silent, so all occupants could hear her.
There was a sigh from the front. The man driving held a stern face. "Look, girls, I know this isn't exactly where you wanted to be going, but it's your best shot," he said, his accent Eastern London. How he wound up driving around American teenagers was a tale for another day.
"I just don't see why no one's told us anything yet," she replied. The other twin remained silent as she watched her sister.
"No one else could know or else they'd act up," he said, looking back at her through the mirror for a second before looking back at the road. "And I can assure you that this school is just the place for you girls."
"What's it called again?" the other finally piped up. Her voice was small. She looked to the man the best she could from behind him, but she couldn't see more than the side of his face.
He let out a breath before nodding. "Waterloo Road."

Maggie Budgen was waiting inside the schoolhouse, a big smile on her face. The time for her to meet her new pupils and residents was just in the next few minutes. She only hoped none of them were late. It wouldn't put a damper on her day, but it would push back her schedule. She would hate for any of them to arrive and her not be there to see them around. She was going into this with bright intensions, only hoping to look on the good side of things.
