As the boy led Aphmau into town, the snow crunched beneath her feet and she felt her legs wobble. The streets were filled with to the brim with big shops and people roaming the streets. The large medieval style buildings towered above her, making her feel small in comparison. People pushed past her and she nearly lost her grip multiple time, but she held on tightly no matter what. Getting lost in this town would not be good, she could get lost easily and never find her way back, at least with the forest she could hear the lake but inside everything was muffled by the conversation of the people.

The boy pulled Aphmau through an alleyway that led to a small yet cosy looking clothes shop.

"Um... w-where exactly are we going?" Aphmau said in a stutter because she was embarrassed.

"Oh this is a clothes shop I always go to, it's small but the person who works there is really nice. Quick question, do you know what a meif'wa is?" The boy asked as he went to grab the door handle with his free hand.

"Um, cat people right?" She gave a confused look. "But why does that matter?"

As he opened the door the first thing that caught Aphmau's eye was the soft pink colour of the walls, it gave off a feeling that made her feel all fuzzy inside. The girl at the desk also shared this pink colour, as her hair was the same a slightly brighter shade of pink. Black furred cat ears poked out of the top of her head and her eyes were a bright lemon colour. Her tail wagged at the sight of a customer.

"Hi! I am Kawaii~Chan and welcome to my clothes shop. Here you can buy a array of clothes hand made by me!" She left the counter through a small pull up door on the corner and walked quite hastily over towards Aphmau and the boy. "So what are you looking for today?"

"Hello Kawaii~Chan, I would like an O'kahsis style winter coat. I remember you having some last time I came here." The boy looked around the store and a pink coat caught his eye. "Do you have this in blue?"

Kawaii~Chan walked over and pulled a blue one out from behind the pink coat. She took it back to the counter and asked for 12 gold. Aphmau thought of it as quite pricy but from just looking at the bag of gold the boy carried on his side, she could tell he had to be from a wealthy family.

"Hey wait, before you go may Kawaii~Chan ask what your name is?" Kawaii~Chan called across the shop to Aphmau.

"Oh it's Aphmau." Her and the boy left the shop and he handed her the coat.

"I'm so very sorry." The boy grabbed Aphmau's hand.

"Huh? For what?"

"I should have let you pick the colour you wanted. For not letting you do that I am sorry." He walked forward as Aphmau pulled the coat onto herself and followed him towards the road. "Uh be careful here, horse and carriages come this way often and they are very fast and very painful to get hit by."

"H-hit by! Could it...kill someone?" He looked down and then started walking across the road with Aphmau following quite a way behind. He stepped onto the other side as Aphmau was half way across the road.

"Hey you wouldn't mind speeding up would you." The boy said sounding kind of desperate. Aphmau just started walking slower after he said that "Not to sound rude but can you please hurry up."

A sound caught the boys ear, coming loud and forcefully. The galloping of hooves on the cold ground created a small crunch from the distance and coming in fast towards Aphmau. She turned to face it, eyes widened and in that moment everything felt like it had frozen. She put her hands over her face to try and protect herself but that wouldn't do anything, hoping she had managed to make a barrier she looked up to see an icy statue of the carriage and its horses frozen in place in front of her. The boy ran out into the road and grabbed her arm, pulling her out of the road and running down the street.
