She was told a lie
She believed it
With rage in her eyes
My youngest daughter
She was ready to have
But a simple drug test
Would be the first stab
The drug test came back positive

This simple drug test
Was full of crap about me
For seven years
I worked harder
Both at work
And at home
But the truth
Sat silent
While her storm
Destroyed our home
Its true I said id be back soon
When I left your side
But the truth is
Everywhere you went , I was along for the ride
When you walked to school
I hid behind cars
Making sure you were ok
Trying to prevent your scars
I fought in court
But lost every time
It seems she always won
With a song and a rhyme
I wanted to die outside
The way my insides felt
But others wouldn't let me
They said play the cards your dealt
So I stopped playing her game
No I play a game of my own
Waiting for my seeds
To see the truth I've shown
I have a picture
Pinned to my wall
Of all my seeds playing
Its what I hold onto tight
What keeps me going
And soon , her storm will pass
And the sun will come out
And ill continue to watch my seeds grow .
