The female faked happiness and strode around town. She got the same thing, the snickers and insults from the females, and somewhat lustful looks from the males. However, she never understood that those looks were for her, but believed every word of the insults.
Her outfit consisted of a tight black top, black leather jacket, black skinny jeans, and black knee-high leather boots.
Sighing quietly to herself, she took a detour, heading into the forest, she couldn't take the insults anyway. She began singing quietly to herself, her voice sweet but hurting.
"Run baby run, don't ever look back, they'll, tear us, apart, if, you give them the chance~"
-
The male sat high on a branch. His leg carelessly swinging back and forth, making the branch slightly wiggle. He sighed and leaned his head against the bark and began to hum. His slightly baggy green hoodie and black jeans made him blend in with the forest.
-
The girl twitched as she heard someone hum, but kept singing, trying to locate the voice. "Don't sell your heart, don't, say, we're not meant to be~"
-
'Run baby run forever we'll be you and me' the male quietly sung. He had no idea where the sudden desire to sing came from but he sang anyway. He played with the strings of his hoodie as he watched the glowing orange sun above, partly being blocked by the trees.
-
She looked up, then soundlessly climbed up the tree, following the soft voice. When she was behind the male, on the same branch as he was, she sang quietly. "We're, flying through the night, we're flying through the night, way up, high~"
-
The male heard the leaves rustling behind him. Slowly, he turned his head. He had a glazed, distant look in his eyes. Their eyes met and he turned around to face the sun and he sang, ' The view from here is getting better with you by my side'
-
Her own eyes reflected his, distant, glazed over, dulled. She sat down on the branch, right next to him, and faced the sun as well. 'Run baby run, forever we'll be... You and me..~'
-
A long moment of silence passed before the male faced her with a smirk, eyes still glazed. 'Are you trying to seduce me?' He turned around and laughed into his shoulder.
-
She made a face and snorted. 'I was singing to myself. You're the one that continued it.' She stared at the sun setting, eyes flickering over him for just a moment, the dullness never ceding.
-
'You're the one that came up here.' He pointed out with a smile. 'Beautiful isn't it?' The male said leaning on the bark again his feet crossed on the branch. A faint smile on his face. A little sparkle in his eyes.
-
The girl brought her hair over her shoulder, playing with the ends. 'It's amazing.' She agreed softly, biting at her lip piercing. Turning her gaze back to him, she then asked, 'What're you doing here anyway? I've been here a million times, I've never seen you..'
-
He shrugged. 'What can I say? I kinda blend in.' He lightly tugged his dark green hoodie and black pants. He had brown chestnut hair with a fringe. His green eyes almost matching with his hoodie.'I am here to admire everything beautiful. Guess I found something new today.' He said with a smirk.
-
'True enough.' She looked at him with a raised eyebrow, her eyes a forced-bright blue. 'You've never seen a sunset before?'
-
He flinched. For a second, pain, loneliness and confusion swirled in his wide eyes. Quickly, they turned back to normal. 'I have but they're just that beautiful that they keep me coming for more. Its good to enjoy the simple things in life.' He said with a shrug.
-
'Like being able to walk home without people taunting you and calling you a slut?' Her voice grew slightly bitter, but she never tore her gaze from him, analyzing his eyes. 'Yeah, I would enjoy that. I would LOVE that, actually.'
-
He smiled in amusement. 'The simple things in life like how the wind blows through your hair, how the sun feels on your skin, the happiness you feel with someone special. Not the things bitter people say to make themselves feel better. 'You're looking in the wrong places.' He said glancing at her with his calm eyes.
-
She looked away. 'I've never felt happiness before,' She admitted softly, staring at the horizon as night started to set in. 'I want to.. but I never have,'
-
His eyes went back to where the glowing sun once was, slightly irritated. His eyes instead observed the stars beginning to appear. 'Well what brings you the slightest joy?'
-
She thought for a second, then smiled faintly at the stars, but her smile was real this time. 'Blood. And love. One, I've never felt, and the other..' She pushed the sleeve of her jacket up, revealing beautiful designed carved into her skin with blades and knives. '..are the reasons I have there.'
-
His eyes scanned her skin, taking in as much detail as he could. His gaze went back to the twinkling stars. 'You can be an assassin if you fancy the sight of blood. And well the scars are apart of you. The people that aren't willing to accept it are cunts.' He said. His calm voice slightly became tense and irritated. 'But love doesn't always have to mean romance. '
-
Her eyes flickered a green and she grinned, maniacally. 'Guess you figured out part of me then, huh~' She then scoffed slightly. 'I never said romance. I just said I wanted love. Maybe a friend.. Or a fucking family that doesn't hate me.'
-
A faint smile spread across his face. He nodded. 'Its lovely isn't it? I favor the color and the way it feels.' He looked deep into her eyes. His glazed eyes were now full of seriousness yet they were full of playfulness. 'Would you like to be my friend?' He said extending his hand out.
-
She stared back, her own eyes hard and cold. She didn't like trusting, it had hurt her too many times in the past. Finally, she took a deep breath, her eyes softening, and took his hand in hers. 'A leap of faith..'
-
He grinned. His face lit up, perfecting his features. He shook her hand with a firm grip. He let go and made an x over his heart. When he did, his heart area glowed a bright blue. 'Cross my heart and hope to die I'll be the bestest friend that I can be.' He chuckled. 'What's your name anyway.'
-
She stared at him, almost as if she was unable to look away, then a cautious, but real smile made it's way across her face. Now her face glowed, her shoulders relaxed slightly more, and her general features began looking more breathtaking. 'Amazing how we just talked for a solid hour and never once mentioned names. And.. I... It's..' She hesitated. 'Rose. And yours?'
-
Half a smile stretched across his pale face. 'Lovely.' The glazed distant look in his eyes gradually disappeared. 'Benjamin. ' he said in a soft childlike voice.
