It was Wednesday. The week was halfway over. Nate got ready and ate breakfast, as she usually did. She got on the bus, and the stranger sat with her again. She waited until she got to Sophia's stop and waited for her to get on the bus so she could ask him to move. The only problem with this plan was that Sophia never got on. The stranger stared at her for the entire bus ride, making Nate extremely uncomfortable. She got off at Promenade elementary school, and walked to class. She read her book in the hallway while she waited to go inside. Her teacher let them in class, but quite a few of the students were missing. Sophia, Hailey, Addisyn, Dylan, Owen, and Will were absent, which was a large number for a class of 23 students. Nothing about the day should have made it very special, but the situation made every little thing that happened that day extremely important. Nate woke up the next day. She got ready and ate breakfast. She got on the bus, where the stranger sat beside her and stared at her the whole ride. Sophia didn't get on the bus, either. Everything happened the exact same that day, the same number of kids were missing, the same kids were missing. Three days went by. It was still Wednesday. Nothing had changed at all. Nate knew she had to do something, but what she needed to do was the real question.
