Chapter 1- Evening in the candy kingdom
It was evening in the Candy Kingdom and Prince Gumball was brushing his teeth after a long and relaxing shower. He had many things on his mind however his main thought was Marshall Lee. 'Brush your teeth,' he sang merrily . 'Brush ' em right, cause-'
CRASH! Gumball froze, glancing at the bathroom door his toothbrush gripped tightly in his shaking hand. 'Cavaties live in teeth and come out at night.' He heard an unknown voice whisper from behind the bathroom door. He slowly put his toothbrush into the pink holder before creeping out from the bathroom. 'Hello?' he called out nervously as he stepped into the dimly lit room. He gulped feeling a light breeze from his room window which was not open before, His voice cracked with fear as he called out 'Is somebody therere?' It crossed his mind that Princess Bubblegum had creaked into his apartment on numerous occasions. Gee, what a bother he thought, was it not obvious enough that he did not have feelings for her.
'Boo!' someone leaped out in front of Gumball, who screamed, while trying to keep hold of the towel that was around his waist.
'Ah!' Dont hurt me!' He cried out as his own fist shot out, colliding with the intruders face. 'ow! why'd you do that?!' The intruder exclaimed, his dark form taking a step back.Gumball recognised the voice, and he recognised it well.His heart beat faster and it took him several seconds to recover before he could force himself to stammer the name. 'M-Marshall?' Gumball asked his voice shaking.He was still felling slightly panicked. 'You punched me!' Marshall stated, amusement picking up in his voice 'W-well you st-starrled me'. Gumball could'nt stop himself from stammering. He looked down at his own naked upper-body self conciously.He blushed yet a pinker shade than normal when he noticed how closely Marshall was staring at him. 'What-what are you doing here?' 'I thought i'd stop by' Marshall shrugged casually.He looked deep into Gumball's eyes adding, 'and there was something I wanted to tell you' Gumball turned strawberry red thinking about what on earth it could be that brought Marshall here so late at night. Gumball sat on his bed and Marshall sat beside him, looking slightly uneasy.Gumball sighed. Marshall always made him hang on every word he said. 'Is everything alright?' Gumball asked worriedly. 'what did you need to tell me?'
'This.' Marshall said before slowly leaning over to kiss Gumball on the mouth. Gumball's eyes widened and then closed when Marshall's lips met his.Marshall broke away from the kiss, leaving them both panting for breath. Gumball gently wrapped his arms around Marshall's neck and met his lips again kissing him passionately. Gumball began to fiddle with Marshall's shirt buttons But then there was a knock on the door. They both froze.
'Gumball?' Princess Bubblegum's voice sounded from behind the door. Several seconds later, the bedroom door clicked open.Gumball sat up frantically, what would happen if princess bubblegum saw this? What would the kingdom say?, Gumball was now aware that Marshall was no longer on the bed with him.
'Gumball? Princess Bubblegum asked once again as she turned on the room light. 'oh!' she exclaimed, seeing Gumball laying on his bed with only a towel around his waist, his hair still dripping wet and looking flustered. 'I-I uh, made tea' she stammered.Gumball sat up and put on his most convincing fake smile, masking his frustration.
'Thank you, Bonni.' He said politely 'I'll join you soon' he added. Princess Bubblegum smiled and then nodded. 'Oh and Bonni?' Gumball asked just as as she had begun to close the bedroom door 'Yes?' she answered
'Please refrain from opening my bedroom door before I have the chance to reply' Gumball said as politely as he could trying to keep his anger out of his voice.
'Oh' Princess Bubblegum said, sounding offended 'yes, of course' she added quickly before shutting the door with what Gumball noted a little more force than neccesary. Gumball exhaled slowly, trying to control his annoyance.How could she just enter his room without his permission? And what kind of timing was that?
Gumball stood up and made his way to his bedroom door,peering out to ensure that Princess Bubblegum wasn't still lurking about. Once he was reasurred he he called out quetly 'Marshall?'
'Still here' Marshall replied, Gumball looked around still unable to see Marshall, his voice however was very close.
'Where?' Gumball asked
'Right here' Marshall whispered quietly in Gumballs ear. Marshall chuckled as Gumball jumped back, now pinned against the door, Gumballs face turned a deep shade of pink as he tried to keep the towel around his waist.
'M-Marshall, I-I...' Gumball stammered when Marshall's face was only inches from his own.
'Yes?' Marshall asked quietly, staring into Gumballs eyes and smiling when he heard Gumball's Heartbeat increasing.
Marshall leaned in to kiss Gumball and then stopped, smirked and turnt off the bedroom light.
