April 19th
Today is Juniper Day. I know that Juniper Day is supposed to be fun, but I can tell that inside every single person is a nervous wreck. Today in class, Mr. Foxx came in during the middle of geography and started whispering to my teacher, Ms. Leschatt. We couldn't really hear anything, except something about The Circle. Nobody likes The Circle. Whenever someone mentions The Circle everyone stops what they're doing and just sits there in silence.
April 21st
Today is the second most dreaded day of the year. The day before Circle Day. Everyone is nervous. Today is the last day of the year that kids will practice their speed at recess. When the kids see Topaz, Bluebell and I just sitting on a bench, they come over and say "Hey, Topaz, Bluebell, Minty, why aren't you guys practicing? Don't you want to make it to the pole?" I want to say that Topaz, Bluey and I have had eleven years of good luck and we all hope for one more, but then the bell rings.
