Chapter 3

"Ugh.."

I felt the pain and blankness wash away from me, I slowly fluttered my eyes open, at first it was blurry but later turned into a much clearer sight. My sight came back and I looked around to recognize where I was and I found out that I was in the Hospital Wing, then I heard a few murmurs not far away from me and saw that it was Adrien, Sierra, and Professor Rionach talking to Ms. Pomfrey.

"Marinette!"

I heard Sierra's small voice once I sat up from the bed as I massaged my forehead and smiled weakly at her "hi Sierra.." I said, surprisingly, like a whisper and caressed her hair once she was close to me. I saw her mood wasn't as bright as before, she was looking down and frowning "I'm sorry..I shouldn't have let you do the Patronus Charm" she apologized to which I accepted easily. I lifted her chin up and smiled wider "it's okay Sierra, I'm fine now.." I trailed off, feeling as if I'm gonna doze off once more, I held my head and calmed myself down.

"Mari!" I saw Adrien rushed up to me and sat down beside me and hugged me, much to my shock. I unconsciously hugged back without blushing, closing my eyes for a bit of relaxation "Adrien.." I hoarsely whispered, "..what happened..to me?" I paused for some moments, asking that. He pulled back and looked at me with worry and a bit of shock in his eyes "you don't know?" He asked to which I answered shaking my head.

Adrien pursed his lips as if he was hesitant to say something, then he parted his mouth and spoke "when you casted the spell, your wand let out two different animals and you fell unconscious.." he paused, placing both of his hands at my shoulders. I let my eyebrow raise, two? Why would my wand show two animals? It was the Patronus Charm, it was supposed to show my spirit animal..

"I couldn't figure out why your wand showed that two animals though, but I was more worried for you" Adrien continued and ended, scratching the back of his head, and I swear I kinda saw a bit of pink on his cheeks. I smiled gratefully to him "thank you, Adrien" I thanked him for his thoughtfulness and he returned it back with a relieved smile. Then Professor Rionach walked closer to us and sighed in relief "I am so glad that you're alright, Ms. Dupain-Cheng" she said, placing her hand at her chest. I nodded as my only reply, not having the strength to say anything at the moment.

"She needs to rest, she's still a bit weak from casting the Patronus Charm, it really dawned on her too much" Ms. Pomfrey said, looking back at me.

To be honest, she was absolutely right. I am feeling weak and light-headed, I don't even know why or what's gotten into my wand as it was said that it shown two animals or, whatsoever. I sighed tiredly as I motioned myself to lay back down and rest more, Adrien actually noticed this that's why he helped me to gently lay my head back on the pillow. I was fighting the pain that was kinda throbbing on my head, making me whimper a bit.

"Oh, okay.." I heard Adrien's disappointment, looking back down at me. I smiled weakly at him as my eyelids were half to closing, then I suddenly felt something warm planted on my nose, and I probably went asleep faster than I thought when I realized it was Adrien's lips "sleep tight Mari, I'll visit you again" he whispered before I was knocked unconscious.

I slowly opened my eyes, feeling more better, remembering that I'm still at the Hospital Wing. I looked around and noticed that I was all alone, so I, literally, said my thoughts out loud.

"I'm glad that I'm feeling much better now.." I said, touching my forehead and checked myself to see that I was good "and now that I have my mind set in control, I wonder why my wand did that? Specifically, where is my wand?" I asked myself as I searched and only found it at the bedside table beside me, I stretched out and grabbed it and examined it thoroughly "could there be something wrong with it? But, I don't think so.." I scratched my head cluelessly and remembered that I casted the Patronus Charm, and not to mention the bright light that surrounded me before I was unconscious.
