I take one final sip of my drink and head to the bin. Just as I put the can in the bin, I suddenly feel dizzy and lose balance, probably from the lack of food. Grabbing on to the bin to stabilize myself, I pull myself together. I decide to grab something to eat. I frown as I see the options in the vending machine as it is only junk food.
"Amelia." I hear a whisper. I look around to find the owner of the whisper, but there is no one around. Shaking if off, I turn back to the vending machine, and punch in the digests for a packet of crisps. I grab the packet from the bottom of the machine.
"Amelia." I turn to see my uncle standing in front of me. "Amelia." I blink a few times and he disappears. I shake my head, open the packet, walk back to my belongings and sit down.
"Help me." I jump as I hear his voice as if he were whispering in my ear. I turn again and see him crouching down behind me. Seconds later, he vanishes again. I start to quickly eat the chips thinking it would stop the hallucinations. I finish the packet and sigh with relief because I feel a bit better. Moments later I start to feel dizzy again. I close my eyes and take a few breaths, trying to stop the dizziness.
"Amelia." My eyes fling open at his voice and I jump up. A pain starts to grow in my head. I look around the empty platform than take a seat back down. I reach into my bag and pull out a packet of pain killers. I spot a bubbler and start walking towards it to take a drink with the pills. I pop a tablet in my mouth, then bend down to take a drink of water.
"Amelia" I instantly turn around a see my uncle standing center meters away from me.
"You're not real. You're dead" I say aloud.
"Help me." He says grabbing my arms.
"YOU'RE NOT REAL!" I shout and squeeze my eyes shut. I reopen my eyes and once again he has gone.
I head to the front desk to ask for the location of the bathroom.
"Further down from you right." The lady says as she gestures to the bathroom. "Are you alright Mam. You're looking a bit pale."
"I fine. I just haven't eaten a lot today." I smile hiding the fact that I feel horrible. I walk out and turn right, heading towards the bath room.
"Amelia." I turn to see my uncle standing to the right of me. I start to pick up the pace.
"Help." He speaks again but is to the left of me. I walk a little bit faster.
"Help me." He pops up in front of me.
"Leave me alone!" I scream, running toward the bathroom.
I enter the empty wash room and run to the sink. I let the cold water run for a moment, looking at my reflection, attempting to calm myself down before splashing my face with the cold water.
"Melia." I look up at the mirror and see his reflection. I turn around to face him. This time he has blood running down his face. Red, pouring out of his nose, ears and the cut on his forehead. Purply blue marks on his cheeks and around his eyes
"Help me." He says softly.
"Help you with what?" I reply.
"Make it stop." He says with a tear rolling down his face.
"Stop what?" Suddenly the cleaner enters the bathroom making the hallucination disappear.
"Sorry dear. Didn't mean to interrupt." The cleaner says kindly.
"That's alright." I say walking out of the bathroom. I walk back up to where I had placed my things. I sit down placing my head into my hands. Feeling the rain poor down on me not caring that I'm getting wet.
I start to hear the sound of train tracks running. I instantly look up and feel a wave of relief as the train, from a far distance, starts to head to the platform. I turn my head to look straight forward, and jump when I see my uncle still in his beat-up state, standing on the tracks.
"What are you doing? Get of the tracks." I say standing up worriedly.
"It's the only way." He replies.
"What do you mean?!" I shout.
"The only way to make it go away." He retorts.
"Make what go away?" I ask feeling frustrated, not knowing what he is on about.
"The pain. It's the only way to make the pain go away." He turns to face the train, not being afraid of it.
"You don't have to do this. Now get of the tracks." I say as the train become clearer.
"No. It's the only way." He says closing eyes getting ready for the train.
It felt like the train was becoming faster and faster as it got closer.
"GET OFF THE TRACKS!" I scream. Without a reply, I start running towards the tracks to push him off.
The train gets closer and closer. Just as I was about to step onto the tracks, the train passes by only two or three centimeters away from me.
I step back in shock feeling light headed. My view starts to blur and is spinning around over and over again. I start to feel weak my vison get blurrier and darker. My breath is short and out of time. My heart is racing until total darkness consumes me. Not a sound to be heard, and not a thing to be seen.
The End.
