Mahabharta is a war between two cousins Pandavas and Kauravas.
It was written by lord Ganesha.Lord Ganesha agreed to write it only if Vyasa never paused in his recitation. Vyasa agrees on condition that Ganesha takes the time to understand what was said before writing it down. This gave time to Vyasa to take breath and to compose the next verse.
Mahabharta consists of 18 parvas and took place during Dvapara Yuga.The great war took place for 18 days.According to a translation work of B.N.Achar on a planeterium software Kurushetra war started on Nov 22, 3067 BCE. But S.Balakrishna claims that the war took place in 2559 BCE based on consective lunar eclipse.
Bhagvad gita is a part of Mahabharat.Having the 8 avtar of vishnu, krishna as the main role model of the story. Guiding the people through tough times and trying to make the bad people see the power of truth. While Mahabharat is a whole story of the lives of kuru dynasty. Bhagvad gita is a part of mahabharat. The conversation between lord krishna and Arjuna.
