Different: Chapter 1

INTRODUCTION :

In 2013, Katerina, a popular student of Graceland Academy Grade 5, suddenly died partway through

the school year. Devastated by the unexpected loss, the students and teachers behaved like

Katerina was still alive, leading to a strange presence on the graduation photo. In Spring 1998,

12-year-old Vance Christian transfers into Graceland Academy, Grade 5, where he meets Katerina,

a strange student whom their classmates and teachers seemingly ignore. The class is soon

caught up in a strange phenomenon, in which students and their relatives begin to die in

mysterious, gruesome ways. Realizing that these deaths are related to the "Katerina of 2014", it is

up to Vance and Kat to discover the cause of these mysterious deaths and figure out how to stop it

before it kills them.

Chapter 1: Vance

Because of his father's work in Dubai, Vance moves to his birth town of Cavite to live with his

grandparents. Due to a pneumothorax, he spends his first month there hospitalized, thus missing

his first day of school. Three student delegates from his class—Neil David, Maxeene Jewell,

Mhelind—visit him, but they act strange and ask him personal questions, trying to find out

whether he's lived in Cavite before. In a hospital elevator, Vance meets a girl with a Doll, named

Katerina. Once Vance recovers, he goes to school, where everyone is seemingly friendly with him;

yet, when he asks Maxeene where Katerina is, she seems shocked, then pretends not to know who

he is talking about. Vance saw Katerina on the roof, Vance go to Katerina and have a

conversation.During a conversation with Katerina on the roof, she tells him not to get too

close to her, claiming that their class is "much closer to death" than other classes. On his way

home, Vance sees Katerina looking up at the rainy sky. Vance go near to her and ask "What are you

doing under the rain?" as Katerina said "You will not understand.", Vance continued to walk home.

"Why my classmates act so weird." Vance said,

Vance looked at the window and saw a girl looking at him, strange.

Vance ignored it and read some books.

Its 8:34pm...

As Vance turned on the T.V. , Vance look at the window again,

And saw the girl again across the street,

"Why is that girl looking at me, is she spying on me, nahh." Vance whispered.

Vance fell asleep, and left the T.V. on. . .

(Its weekend, Saturday)

Vance go with his grandparents in the mall,

They entered the mall,

They go to the supermarket and buy some stuff,

Vance saw his classmates,

Neil, Adrian, and Cedric,

Vance ignored them and continued walking,

As they go to the counter, Vance want to go to the CR,

Suddenly,

Vance saw Katerina and run to her,

"Katerina, I'm gonna ask you something." Vance said,

"I hate being questioned." Katerina replied,

As Vance replied "Hmmm, Okay, If that's what you want."

Vance continued walking, going to the CR

Vance go back to his grandfather and go to the carpark,

Vance's grandfather get a call from someone,

Vance entered the car and wait for his grandfather to enter the car,

"Christian, where is the receipt?" Vance's grandmother said,

"Its here." Vance replied,

Vance's grandfather entered the car and say,

"Hmmm, Its prank call again."

They drive home and help to arrange the groceries.
