Ash's POV:
Ash walked down the road, heading back to Pallet town. He won his battle against Cynthia. To be honest with himself, she was one of the strongest opponents he ever faced.
"Hey Pikachu, I wonder how the others are doing back there." He asked, looking at Pikachu.
"Pika pika! (I bet they're fine.)" Pikachu answered, jumping up and down for some unknown reason.
"You're right about that, Pikachu." Ash replied.
After his battle with Cynthia, all of his Pokémons were heavily wounded. He took them to Pokémon center to have their wounds treated.
After a while of waiting, Nurse Joy finally finished treating their wounds.
"Your Pokémon are healed." she said smiling lightly.
"Thank you for healing my Pokémon, nurse Joy." Ash said, tilting his head to the side and grinning slightly.
"You're welcome." She replied. "Oh, I have to go now. Some other Pokémons need to seek medical attention. See you around!
Nurse Joy waved at him and turned around, walking out the door. Ash retrieved his Pokémons and continued heading towards Pallet town.

Pallet Town
After a few hours of walking, riding his bike and resting, Ash and Pikachu finally arrived at Pallet town.
"Hey, Pika. We're home." He said, grinning at Pikachu.
"Pikapi! (Yeah!)"
He was riding on the bike that he specifically bought for Misty, to repay her, since he owed her a bike for the incident last time. After a few months of saving up money, he finally earned enough to buy an expensive-looking bike. As they neared the house, Ash jumped off the bike and parked it beside the house and walked up to the front door.
Knock knock.
As Delia heard a knock on the door, she quietly peeked through the peephole, revealing his son standing outside. As she opened the door, Ash spotted all of his friends and rivals crowded inside the house. He was really confused at this point. He somehow had a gut feeling that something bad happened.
"Hey, what's going on in here?" he questioned, looking around.
Gary decided that now was the appropriate time to tell him what happened.
"Ashy-boy, you know what we're here for? We're here to tell you, that you should quit your stupid dream of becoming a Pokémon master." He sneered, glaring at the boy.
"Gary is a hundred percent correct. You're weak and pathetic, you'll never be successful." Misty hissed.
"W-what?" Ash stammered, staring at the people in front of him.
"You're the reason why we're always losing, and always getting attacked by Team Rocket. You're just a nuisance." May spat.
