I awoke to the fresh, sweet smell of daisies seeping into my room from the open window. Sunlight streamed in as well, casting every shadow into oblivion as it reached its warming rays across my bedroom floor.
All was peaceful and serene until-
"Fiona! Get your butt downstairs this instant!" My 'wonderful' mother called from the bottom of the staircase.
"Coming!" I replied angrily before sliding my bare feet to the floor. I pushed myself off of my warm bed and yawned, stretching one hand to the ceiling while the other tried to cover my mouth.
I reached my hand out to grasp the closet doorknob and pulled it open, revealing plenty of choices for today's outfit. I picked out a nice purple t-shirt and a pair of black jeans. Simple - that's my style.
As I ran down the stairs, I pulled my long, brown hair into a ponytail and combed it with my fingers. When I reached the bottom, I quickly glanced at my work and smiled.
That smile faded when I walked into the kitchen.
I knew something was up as soon as I entered. My mother stood behind the kitchen table with her arms crossed, and an envelope was on the table. My little brother sat in a strange silence, eating his cereal. I say strange because my brother is never quiet. Never.
"Fiona," she began, "What are those?" She pointed to the envelope on the table. I glanced at it warily, wondering just what in it had made my mother so angry.
Cautiously, I picked up the white envelope and lifted the flap. Nothing has popped out at me so far...that's good.
I almost screamed at what I saw next.
A Minecon ticket. It was my Minecon ticket that I had ordered a few months ago, and now it is finally here!
"Well?" My mother asked.
"I-uh-Minecon tickets..." I trailed off.
"And...did you order them? Without permission?"
I gulped.
"Y-Yes." I stumbled over my reply. "I did."
My mother just sighed and plucked the envelope from my hands. She turned to the garbage can and did the unimaginable.
She threw away my ticket.
"Mom!" I yelled, attempting to get to her, but failing because of my brother's outstretched leg.
"Dang it, Matt!" I bellowed from the floor. It didn't seem to have an effect on his conscience, because he kept on eating with his stupid, cocky grin.
"Just, go to your room. I'll have none of that video game nonsense, especially when I told you specifically not to order tickets to this...this FREAK SHOW." Mother whisper-screamed her last words.
I sat up and slowly scooted away. Freak show? It is not a freak show! Especially because Team Crafted will be there. They're weird, not freaks. And anyway, they would care less what my mother thought. If only I was the same way...
I felt tears welling up in my eyes. This was supposed to make me happy, I thought. I was supposed to enjoy myself. Why can't I have this one, simple pleasure?
Mother, that's why. As I picked myself off of the floor and dragged my body back to the stairs, I thought of how strict she was. When I was a child, she hardly let me even go outside. Most certainly not in the winter, because playing in the snow would allow me to have too much fun. I rolled my eyes at that thought.
She hardly lets me hang out with my friends, and when I do I pretend like I'm working on a project just so that I can go. She wonders why I get so many during the school year. Here's hoping she never asks any of my teachers...
And, it's not like I have many friends either. I'm an antisocial outcast, and that's the way it has always been.
I guess my life isn't that normal after all, but I'm not complaining. Someone has to live the life of the fantastic Fiona Nighting, and I'm the only one fit for the job.

Hey guys! This is Fiona, or fluffybunny13! I'm going to be the author of this story most of the time, unless I ask the other members to write one for me if I cannot. This story uses my name, I know, but trust me. My life isn't like this at all, and my last name definitely isn't Nighting.
Although, that would be really friggin' cool. x3
