Macy's P.O.V
"Luke. You promise and you can't back out of it now." I said, my heart pounding in my chest for my request.
Lucas just stood sitting down on the bed while looking at his sketch book bitting his lip. "I-I-I don't know Mace. This is really serious." He said lowly raising his eyes from the sketch book to look at me. "I mean you can never get this back if I take it." Luke blushed and looked back down at his book. His pencil went sketching away again.
I sighed and threw myself onto the bed next to him. Laying there I study him. His blackish brownish hair was all over the place. I wouldn't put it beside myself if he ever combed it, but it fitted him. It leveled out the little tan in his skin, along with his lanky figure. He contained no muscle what so ever. Probably a little six pack, but nothing other than that. But somehow he was always strong, not physically, but mentally. Whenever we were picked on when we were younger or even now, he knew just what to say. And when he looked at you his dark blue eyes would go unnoticed as black eyes, but I
knew they're true color since I spent so many of my days with him, just like I knew his true self, which was he would do anything for me. I don't understand why, but hey I have to use it to my power.
"Lukey." I whine. He sighed and gripped the pencil tighter in his hand. "Macy I said no." The pencil broke in half and he threw his sketch book on the bed to go rummage for a new pencil, roughly and loudly.
"What's up your butt?" I asked as I looked over the sketch he was drawing. It was of a car he is always talking about. I rolled my eyes and shook my head, but I knew he would get it one day. He was that determined and he always got his way except when it came to me.
"Sorry Mace, but I just found out some news." I crawled towards him as he sat back and went to retrieve his book.
Before he could go back to it, I put my hand in front of the book. He looked at me. "You wanna talk about it." He sighed. "It's not like you're gonna give me a choice." Luke smiled a little and I giggled.
He grabbed me into a hug then let go. "Remember that school I told you I apply to?" Luke asked. I nodded.
"What happened you didn't get in?" I felt bad for him, I knew he really wanted to get in.
"The opposite." He looked at me. His blue eyes looked bluer then ever.
"Then why the sad face? You've wanted to get into this school, since freshmen year and now you've got in days before graduation."
He sighed. "I forgot to mention that I won't be coming back until probably four years." I laughed. "I think thats the whole point of college Lukey." I shook my head and moved higher on the bed. "You go, come back for vacation make your mom do all the laundry then go back each year." I laid my head on his headboard.
"No Mace. I won't be coming back at all not even for laundry." Lucas stood and went to go place his sketch book on his desk.
"Oh." Was all I could master. I pulled my knees to my chest and went into my own thoughts. Luke has been with me since I could remember. We always did everything together. Got in trouble, traded homework answers, celebrated holidays together, and most importantly was there when the other needed them.
I felt the bed shift next to me. "Macy look at me." I looked at him with tears in my eyes. Luke grabbed me into a hug. "That's why I can't do what you want me to do." He said softly.
"No." I pushed him away from me.
"You promised and you're going to keep that promise." Luke looked at me pleadingly. "Macy I can't." He looked down. "I can't leave you like that. What you're asking me to do is something big. Something that you can never get back. Something-"
