Antarctica’s Point of View

I told Jeremiah that I loved him mainly because I want to make him feel better. He became pale and just completely blacked out.

Alright. I also told him because I could barely hold it in anymore. He had to know sooner or later.

So after telling him that, he just grinned and then he suddenly spun me around. I was surprised and amused at the same time.

We both did not mind that people were staring at us as if we were fools. They stared as if we were extremely adorable fools in love.

We just stepped out to talk on the balcony after supper.I suppose he wants to confirm what I just told him a while ago.

Once we were on the balcony, I walked to the railing and breathed in the familiar scents of the flowers from the garden plots of my sisters and I. A mix of the scents of roses, exotic orchids, tulips and jasmines filled the air. The fragrance is calming, its serenity washing over me.

I did not notice how long I was silent, inhaling the scent of the air. He broke the silence easily.

“Did you speak of the truth earlier, when you said that you love me?” His voice was doubtful yet hopeful. I did not turn to face him as I answered.

“Dost thou doubt my words? That is very unfortunate that you do not trust me, Prince.” I grinned into the night.

“Oh no. No. I do not mean that.” He stammered. “I just wanted to know if you did not lie to me or anything.”

I turned to face him and held his gaze with my eyes. “I did not lie. I really did say what I meant, Jeremiah. I have been denying my feelings for you. I have even tried to lock them up deep in my heart and mind so no one would ever know. I did so to prevent myself from ever doing what I did just a while ago. I guess I could barely contain it anymore.” Pause. “It had to come out sooner or later since I will marry you soon.” I grinned at him as sweetly as I could.

He grinned back before he replied “Finally. That’s all I ever wanted to hear from you; that you love me back.” The statement “that you love me back” came in barely a whisper. He stared into my eyes affectionately.

He reached behind his back and pulled out something. I am sure my eyes widened with happiness. Guess what he pulled out.

A blue rose! The exact flower I sent several men to find for me, but they never found. A smile splashed on my face, I could feel it.

“How? Wha--? How did you find one?” I asked as I took hold of the rose and caressed its softness.

“I would do anything to find you this rose.” He said. “Another reason is that our kingdom is full of it.” At that I raised my face to his and beamed. Then I did the unthinkable of me.

I kissed him. I knew he was as surprised as I was. But the both of us did not push the other away. We savored the kiss and it was almost as if we did not stop. When we did pull away, we were both at our wilderness.

“Did we just do that?” I asked, my eyes partly open.

“Yes.” He pulled me closer. “I reckon you want to do it again.” I smiled at that and put my lips on his once again.

Kissing him shot fireworks inside me. He was gentle, but I could feel the pressure he put on my mouth.

I would never have thought that kissing him would just be so magical, enchanting. I hated it when we had to stop. I could feel him grin against my forehead.

I rested my head on his chest, taking in his scent. He smelled clean, masculine. I felt the rose in my hand start to slip down. I caught it before it could drop any further. I turned to see fireworks explode in the sky in a myriad of colors. I smirked. Just the thing to make this night even more magical.

Now I find myself wishing this night will never end.But it had to.

I crept under the covers of my bed. I snuggled up to my pillow and trust that I will have great dreams tonight.
