Ei was tired. She couldn't remember she had ever walked this long in her entire life.

She can maybe call it entire life but she was only eight. If father heard her he would tell her eight years wasn't worth mentioning as a life.

Maybe if Aka-nii wasn't holding her hand and pulling her, she would have stopped walking and fell to the floor.

Mother would be disappointed at such disgrace, Ei was sure father too wouldn't like it.

She looked to the side where they passed by a beautiful big jasmine tree, at its foot stood a magnificent flower.

It was no jasmine, it was a spider lily.

'A spider lily in such a place?' Ei thought amazed.

"What a beautiful flower." She said softly freeing her hand from Aka-nii's held and stopping.

He had let go of her and readjusted the hood of his cape to look around.

Ei, her left her hood steady, she was tired and in case she were to fell as she approached the lily, at least no one would see her face.

People were looking at them, travellers with such fine capes in such a poor village was maybe a rare sight, Ei had noticed.

"It will be the first item in Ei's revival collection." She decided pushing her feets toward it.

But she slipped from tiredness and only redressed last minute, however her hood slipped from her head revealing her ghostly pale expressionless face and dark yet beautiful hair.

That was the only things the walkers qualified as beautiful.

That child was way too scary.

Ei redressed, ignoring her missteps and walked toward the flower with all the dignity a child of eight could muster.

"You did not collect anything since that day, Ei." Aka-nii said.

"It was wrong from me, father was always happy with me and proud when I was able to understand things, he wouldn't be proud of me if he knew I was crying only."

At such a young age, she shouldn't normally understand all this, but Ei....

Peoples who passed by couldn't help but stare at the gloomy little expressionless girl, Ei.

Some pitying her for having such a face, others hiding their child scared that she may be some kind of evil spirit.

Which she wasn't.

'She must be seven or six and she already have such a face.'

'Poor child.'

'What a scary child.'

Ei kept looking at the young man with her own calm expressionless face.

The guy smiled lightly.

"Finally you smiled again.

"SHE SMILED?" Asked out loud the passers.

Ei looked at them expressionlessly bowing politely.

"Didn't you noticed?" She asked softly.

'I should work harder on my smile.' She thought eagerly.
