There was a secret meeting tonight and I had to be there. I didn't plan on going, but it seemed like there was no other choice at this point. The others were forcing me, since the other covens would be there.

I quietly snuck down the stairs, heading toward the front door. I stopped when I heard footsteps padding down the stairs, I hid into the shadows, watching as my brother, Zander, carrying a duffel bag. He raced to the door, opening it, he looked around once before running out of the house and into the dark forest. I thought about running after him to see where he was going, but I knew I had no time to waste, the meeting started soon.

After going through the thick forest, I finally found my destination, an abandoned warehouse. As I walked up to the rusty metal door, I slid it open and found myself face to face with Silveria, a coven leader who I thought was a just a myth. She looked down on me with her cold black eyes. "Witches who are late deserved to be punished," she said, as two men grabbed my arms. It was silent in the room full of hundreds of witches, all of their eyes glaring at us, more specifically me.

The men pulled me through the crowd, their cold hands gripping tightly. I followed them, giving no fight, in a room full of hundreds of witches, how could I stop them? Finally, they let go, pushing me towards another two witches, who looked like they were in the same position as me. One was a girl, blonde with green eyes, she glared at me showing a merciless look. The other was a boy, black hair with dark brown eyes, he looked down at the floor, not even flinching as I was pushed toward him.

The witches around us began to whisper to each other, whispering names, "Cora" "Kaine" and then I heard mine, "Zaria." Around me people were saying my name, but there was one voice that sounded familiar. It sounded distant, but as if the person were yelling.

In an instant the warehouse went quiet, everybody looked around trying to find what had made a huge bang. On the second floor in the warehouse you could see Silveria looking down on us, "well, let's get on with this meeting, shall we? To start we will do my favorite part, the game."

I knew what was going to happen, I was warned about this. I thought Silveria was a myth, I thought the game was a myth. Now I would be participating in the game and I had no chance in winning.

"For those who have never played the game, here is what will happen. We have 3 witches, and each will use the spells they know to fight each other to the death. One rule for the watchers, if you interfere you have to play. One rule for the players, only one person comes out," Silveria smiled. "Tonight only one of these 3 will make it out. Will it be the pretty blonde, Cora? The mysterious boy, Kaine? Or the little weakling, Zaria?"

People laughed and started to back away, leaving us three in a giant circle. Cora, stared at me, gritting her teeth, I knew she would try to take me out first. Kaine still looked at the ground, his face was unreadable.

"Let the games begin." One second, I was listening to these words, the next I was being thrown, my body hitting the cold concrete floor. Just as I tried to stand up, fire began to inflame around me, crawling up my body, but just as quick as it had started, it went away. Kaine was in front of me now, looking at Cora, mumbling words in latin. Behind him, Cora lay on the floor, holding her head, she slowly got up and ran toward him. He ducked out of the way, giving me time to get up and remember a spell I had learned.

Becoming a witch, was possibly the worst decision I have made. I know only 3 spells, and of those none of them would help me in this situation. One of them being that I can make feathers float, I could also do that with my breathe, so that spell is useless.

I stepped back, watching as Cora said spells that barely did anything to hurt Kaine, but his spells were slowly wearing her down. Soon enough, she fell to the floor, that left Kaine and I.

He started to walk over to me, slowly. His face was emotionless, and I could tell that I would just be one little bug he'd zap and I would die. I couldn't fight back, Cora couldn't even beat him. Kaine stopped 2 feet away from me and began to mumble words in latin again. I was in a corner, I couldn't run, and if I could where would I go? His hand raised up from his side, as I began to levitate off the ground. He was holding me by my neck. There was no oxygen, I could feel death coming, hope was gone. Darkness spread around me as I began to black out, Kaine was the only person I could see.

Splat. I fell to the floor. Inhaling oxygen, my lungs that were so tightened finally loosening. My eyes fluttered open to see Zander in front of me, pulling me up. He had gotten Kaine to the floor, but of course Kaine wasn't done.

I never imagined that Zander was a witch, I never even thought he could be capable of doing so. As he stood in front of me, he amazed me, his spells so intricate. Every time Kaine fought, Zander fought harder. I stood there, staring at my brother in amazement. Kaine looked at me before falling to the floor, he had lost just as Cora had.

Zander turned to me, hugging me tightly, "Zaria, only one will make it out, the watcher becomes a player when they interfere.

I looked at him with wide eyes, tears starting to form, fuzzing my vision as my brother began to mumble words. He had saved me, what was the point of that if he was only going to kill me in the end?

Zander looked me in the eyes before I collapsed to the floor, my knees going weak. It was dark like my eyes were shut, but I could still hear the mumbling, chattering, and clapping. "What an unexpected turn of events? Zander, a watcher, had won, killing his sister in the process of doing so," Silveria said.

"Oh Silveria, it is an honor to fight in front of you, all of these dead in front of me were weak." Zander paused for a second, "One thing though, you really think I'd kill my sister?"

Then in an instant there was Zander mumbling, people screaming, footsteps running. I shot up from the floor to see Cora, Kaine, and Zander repeating a spell over and over. Around us, piles of dead witches bodies, but one in particular stood out to me. One with cold black eyes, Silveria was dead, she loved her game, but her game had to end.
