For a long time, Tsuna had not once ever thought that his Guardians would be defeated. Sure, they may get a few scratches, bruises, injuries and mental damages but never truly defeated.

All of them are strong and capable fighters. Even Lambo and Chrome. That's why the thought of his Guardians dying never really crossed his mind. If anything, Tsuna had thought that he would be the one to die first out of all them based on how he would willingly put himself in danger for the sake of others.

Unfortunately, fate was cruel to him and showed him how wrong he was.

It was supposed to be a simple party, attended by the Decimo and his Guardians and the opposing Familia that hosted the party. It was suppose to end with an alliance between the two Familia. Not... this.

Tsuna was naive. And because of that, it had cost him the one thing he would die for. The only thing that had become his reason to be in this world that knows no mercy; his Family.

The worst thing is, they died for him.

The sight of Lambo (his youngest Guardian, brother, family, his) smiling weakly before his eyes -those bright green mischievous eyes that showed love and admiration to him- dimmed, void of life, was all it took for Tsuna to snap and rage. But he was too late. They're already gone. His Elements are gone, not one was alive because they died. They died trying to protect him.

He screamed, broken and hurt, pained at the lost of his Elements as he burned every single person on sight. Natsu's roar was deafening and heart-wrenching at the same time, reflecting his master's anger and sadness. No one survived. No one but him.

By the time Reborn had arrived, he was already too late. The only thing that was left from this carnage was a broken Sky surrounded by his dead Elements.

The hitman did nothing because what can he do? He may be a Sun but not even he -as skilled as he was, can bring the dead back to life. The only thing he could do was to give them a final respect, and a heartfelt apology full of regrets to them.

"...Reborn." at the mention of his name, he snapped his head up and flinched when his eyes met that cold and empty gaze, the gaze of a broken Sky. The  fake smile plastered on that face caused Reborn to feel nausea rising in his throat because this is wrong. He should never have that gaze and that smile on his face. He shouldn't have that. God, he shouldn't.

Reborn was at a loss for words. But he knew that he wouldn't be able to change anything even if he could speak. The only thing he could do for this broken Sky, for Tsuna, is to put him to rest and end his misery. With a heavy heart and heavy steps, he approached his student, the student he had raised and guided. The student that made his chest swell with pride whenever he looked at him. The student that he had come to think as his own son.

Gritting his teeth, he leveled his gun to Tsuna's head, that empty eyes looking straight at him. Reborn didn't look away, couldn't look away because he owed his student at least that much in his final moments. "Goodbye, Tsuna." he bid farewell. "Buona notte." he wished, comforted a little at the thought that this young broken Sky will be able to reunite with his Elements.

"I'm sorry..." Tsuna spoke, his eyes were filled with warm gratitude and regret momentarily before it went back to being hollow and dead. If Reborn hadn't been paying attention, he would have missed it. That last fragment of emotion meant for him, just for him, before he pulled the trigger.
