If people wrote what they knew, where would we be now? We'd have no Harry Potter, hardly any of the books that have shaped people's lives. We'd have half, probably less classics that English teachers cherish so much, and we'd have boring books about boring people with boring lives who do boring things, because guess what? If we wrote what we knew, we would be writing stories about staying up till midnight finishing homework, because that's what we know.
