"Shut up," I groan, rolling over to shut off my alarm. Then, I snap my eyes open. Today is Sunday. I don't set my alarm on Sundays. I whip the covers off and throw my hair up into a messy ponytail.
"Ashlyn!" I shout as I stomp toward her room. "Why did my alarm just wake me up?" I ask when I open the door and see her playing with my other little sister, Aislyn.
Ashlyn looked up at me and smiled innocently. I rolled my eyes, knowing the look was fake. She always put it on when she's done something wrong. Nobody falls for it except for my dad. He thinks the kid's an angel.
"I don't know. Did you set your alarm yesterday?" she questioned, still wearing that look. "Stop playing around. You set it last night when I fell asleep," I accused. Ash faked a gasp. "Alysson! I'm appalled that you'd think so low of me!" she cried dramatically. I rolled my eyes and turned around, not prepared to deal with her so early in the morning.
Before I even took a step away from the threshold of her room, I heard Aislyn snicker and say, "She bought it!" I whipped around so fast, I'm surprised I didn't get whiplash. I was faced with Ashlyn giving Aislyn a fierce glare. "Not anymore," she muttered, then turned to look at me with a guilty look. "I'm sorry," Ashlyn muttered staring at her toes. I sighed and gave up. She looked sincere, so I said, "It's okay, just don't do it again."
I turned away and walked toward my bathroom when I got a text.
Hey. Wanna go laser tag with the rest of us? xx -Chayse
Sure xx - Al I reply. I've got nothing better to do today.
I throw on my jeans and a denim button down. I run downstairs and almost run into my brother, Aiden. "'Sup, Aid," I greet him. He nods at me, then frowns. "Where are you off to so early," he questions. "Im going to go laser tagging with Red, Chayse, and Rey," I respond, attempting to step around him. He shot his arm out to keep me back. "But when I try to wake you up this early on a Sunday, you groan and punch me in the nuts! What do they have that I don't?" he pouted, crossing his arm. I shook my head. "Fun," I replied simply and walked out. "Hey! I'm fun!" Aid shouts, and I giggle.

About a half an hour later I enter the building that we're laser tagging in. The other three are already here. "Hey Al!" Rey shouts rushing over to me. I wave and hug Them all. "Are we playing random?" I ask. Random is the game mode in which you play against other random people in the building. Chayse nods and I run up to grab my laser vest and gun.
When we finally see who we're going with, my jaw drops to the floor and I scowl. We're playing with you know who. That's right. The Super Douche hockey team. The scowl stays planted firmly on my face when I realize who's on my team. I'm stuck with Hockey Dude, whose name is apparently Jesse Winters; another member of the team whose name is Dorian Flax; and Red. I sigh. At least I've got my best friend. The other team consists of Chayse, Rey, and two members of the Super Douches. The first is Jaxon Kace, the guy who apologized to me. The second is the Hispanic guy, whose name is Erick Santiago. Jaxon looks happy to see me. "Hey! Look, I know we didn't really get off on the right foot, what with you storming out of the rink and all, but I want to start fresh. I'm Jaxon but you can call me Jax," he grins, sticking his hand out. I tentatively shake it and give him a slight smile. "I'm Alysson and you can call me Al," I greeted. Jax doesn't seem so bad. He then introduced am to Dorian, Erick, and Jesse.

The announcer's voice drones on about the instructions that I had heard so many times, I could recite them by heart.
"5...4...3...2...1...Go!" the announcer shouted. The teams went to our bases, and prepared a battle strategy.
"Okay, so we'll sneak around to their base, and attack their target. When they come to try to fight back, we attack each one. Got it?" I said. They all nodded except for Jesse. "Nope. I play by my rules," he muttered then walked off. I rolled my eyes. He's just as rude as when I first met him at the rink. Jerk.
The rest of us split up, Dorian going off to find Jesse, and Red and I sticking together. "That guy seems like a jerk," Red mutters. I nod "He's just as bad as when I first met him." Red give me a confused look. "First? Isn't this your first meeting?" She questions as we sneak towards the other teams base. I see a flash of green, and pull Red into a corner. "No. I didn't tell you? Jesse, Jax, Dorian, and Erick are all member of the Super Douche hockey team," I tell her as she scans corridors for members of the opposite team. Red's eyes widen and she has to cover her mouth to stop herself from laughing and giving away our location. She can't hold in her laughter anymore, and Erick and Rey spot our hiding place. I pull Red's arm and dodge walls as she lets out a string of giggles. I slap my hand over her mouth and shush her. She nods, still smiling wildly.
I peek around our hiding place to see if the coast is clear, when I hear a buzzing sound and see Red's vest flashing. She looks out and sees Erick smirking in her direction. "Oh, it is on," she fumes quietly. Before I can stop her, she lets out a battle cry and shoots him. He stand still for a little bit, looking at her weirdly, then runs to warn his teammates. But when Red is in her laser tag mood, nothing gets in her way. She waves her gun around as I try to silently stay behind her. I see a flash of brown hair, and shoot at Chayse. He has Jax with him, and they aim at Red. I tap her shoulder and she spins around and begins shooting wildly. I slip away from her, and see Red and Erick. I silently pass by them, attempting to stick to the plan. I each their base and see Dorian already standing by it. He gives me a look that says Where's you friend; and why did it take you so long to get here? I shake my head in a Not important manner. We both aim at the target, and shoot as if our lives depend on it. "Red team wins!" The announcer shouts and we high-five. Oh, yeah.
********************
"Great game, loser," I snicker at Rey and she lightly punches my arm. "No fair! you cheated! you can't attack the base!" she says as I claim my prize, a king sized AirHead. Just as I pick it up, the four hockey players come up to us. "We should all get together again sometime!" Jax announces. "Sure!" Rey replies before I can say anything. "Let's all exchange numbers," she says. Chayse and Red step forward to get the numbers of everyone.
I take out my phone to check my messages, and my phone is suddenly ripped out if my hand. "Hey!" I protest as Jesse opens my contact list. He holds the phone out of my reach and adds his, and the other guys' numbers. He hands it back to me and I glare at him. "Thanks," I mumble, not sounding very grateful. He shrugs. "No problem," he mutters in the same tone, and I hear his voice for the first time. It's deep and sweet. It kinda sounds like chocolate, if that makes sense. It's like your favorite song on the radio. You want to hear it over and over and over. I turn around and notice Rey smirking at me. I roll my eyes and walk towards my friends. "Bye," I say to no one in particular, and walk out of the building. "I'm not giving them my number," I say to Rey. She chuckles. "Too late. I already did." I scowl. "You're really annoying, you know that?" I say and she giggle. "You love me," she says. I sigh dramatically. Unfortunately.
