Aubrey's P.O.V

"FUCK!" I screamed, putting my phone back in my pocket, Bryce only stared at me awaiting my next move. "He... He isn't dead yet!"

"Well guess who's still stuck in the police station?" Bryce snapped acidly, "And guess who failed to kill him!"

"Oh stop, you can fucking shut your mouth. You didn't do your end of the deal right, it's a fucking miracle that he's still alive!" I snapped back,

"It's not like you bothered to clarify!" Bryce responded, he kept a shallow but quiet tone of voice that soothed me.

Wait. Did I just think that? No matter, there's no way I can like him or even love him a little. "Look. We need to go, right now!" I commanded, running to the front door of the police station,

"Wait! There's an interrogation going on! You can't just leave! Aubrey!" Bryce shouted down the hallway, but I didn't care. I was selfish enough to put my wants before Cam's needs once, and there's no way in hell I'm doing it again.

I opened the door but before I could walk out, someone grabbed my hand. It was Bryce. No duh Aubrey, who else is brace enough to hold you?

"Aubrey! You won't make it there by yourself before Kyle and the entire police force finds you!" Bryce explained, his voice beginning to boil and rise.

He was right, but I didn't have time to finish the interview. "Than what do you suggest?"

"We need to make them aware of this, maybe we'll get lucky and they'll let us go? Considering that this entire investigation is about the murder of Cam," Bryce suggested, closing the police door in front of me, and gestured to walk back down the hallway to make Kyle aware of this.

"Welcome back kids, please take a-" Kyle was cut off,

"Cam could still be alive!" I blurted,

"Hah! That's hilarious. Now sit down," Kyle snapped.

"She's not kidding, she got a call from the doctors of the Health Corp. hospital and she's the emergency number!" Bryce snapped back.

Kyle grabbed my phone and examined my call history. "Ugh fine, you can go. But you must come right back after!" Kyle groaned, sitting back down into his chair.

I looked at my watch. Fuck I'm going to miss everything! "Don't worry, I'll get you there," Bryce suggested. I only drew a blank and just ended up staring at him.

"Um... I'll take that as a yes?" He continued, grabbing me and dragging me down the hallway and out the door. Once we were in his truck I shook off the confusion that took control of me and it just occurred to me how old Bryce was. "Wait. You're in my grade yet you can drive by yourself!" I shrieked.

No matter how early you were born, you can only have a learners permit by grade 9. I latched onto the door handle and started yanking at it trying to open but it was locked. Bryce just laughed at me, "yes I know this is technically not legal, but I'm willing to get you there no matter what,"

"Re-re-really?" I hoped, clenching and crossing my fingers, hoping he wasn't being sarcastic,

"Sure, now you better buckle in because things are about to get dangerous and crazy!" Bryce yelled, starting up his truck and pushing onto the gas peddle.

"You don't have to do this. It's not your concern..." I explained. It was true, and Bryce knew it.

"Consider it my way of saying sorry for how I've been acting. I haven't been the kindest to you and you're right, I didn't clarify on the deal. I've been a real dick to you lately," Bryce explained,
