BEFORE YOU READ THIS CHAPTER, REREAD CHAPTER FOUR. THE PYRAMID HAS BEEN CHANGED. THE UPDATED ONE DRASTICALLY EFFECTS THE STORY.

Chloe and Paige had me by the elbows, dragging me down a long hall. I moved my head around and observed my surroundings. No windows, so it must be a basement. All doors locked from the outside and Chloe had the key in the pocket of her campus pants.

Now I looked at Chloe. Her hair was in a loose french braid and her brown eyes stared straight ahead.

Then I looked at Paige. Her hair was in a bouncy ponytail and her blue eyes kept glancing at me and Chloe.

"Take her, Paige." Chloe said as she released her skinny hand from my elbow, allowing Paige to slip her hands between my elbows and body and hold my shoulders. Chloe pulled out the key and unlocked the door. When the door opened, I saw my sister.

"Mackenzie!" Maddie cried as Chloe grabbed her the same way Paige had grabbed me.

"Maddie!" I cried back to her. Paige moved into the room with me in her grasp. Inside the room, I could see my sister. And I saw what happened to her in these five days. There were bruises and scratches on her face, cuts on her arm and welts on her legs.

"Are you okay? Did they hurt you?" Maddie asked me, her eyes scanning me.

"No," I licked my lips to wet my mouth, which was dry since I hadn't talked much lately. "I can see they hurt you."

"Who cares?" Maddie asked, her head bowing down in defeat.

"I do." I told her.

"We didn't hurt you, Maddie. Don't lie to her." Paige said from behind me.

"Tell her who did it or I will." Maddie threatened.

"Don't say a word!" Paige yelled right by my ear and I winced.

"It was part of the agreement Maddie." Chloe reminded my sister.

"Mackenzie, the person who kidnapped Brynn is Brooke. She's been beating me for replacing her as Abby's favorite." Maddie told me quickly.

"What?" I asked confused. "Why did she take Brynn?"

"Because she knew I'd help you find her. And she knew Kendall would recognize her. But Kenzie, she left. She's been gone for three days and she took them with her. She left us to Chloe and Paige." Maddie told me.

Paige started to pull me out of the room. "No!" I screamed. "Let me stay with her, please! She's all I have!"

I felt Paige look at Chloe, who nodded before both Maddie and I were hauled out of the room. We were taken back to my room and Maddie's bag of stuff was thrown in a few minutes later.

Now I was alone but I had my sister. I had Maddie.

"What are we going to do?" I asked my older sister, who used to know everything to me.

"I don't know, Kenzie." Maddie whispered to me.

"You know what to do Maddie." I encouraged her.

"I don't. We should have called the cops before they told us not to. Before we followed the clues. I regret it all. We're stuck here, Mackenzie. It's me and you now." Maddie began to cry.

"Don't say that. The cops will find us." I said, holding my bigger sister in my arms.

"What about Kendall?" Maddie asked me through the sobs.

"They'll find her too. Brooke can't kill Kendall." I told my sister, even if I didn't believe it.

"What about Brynn?" Maddie asked.

"I don't know." I replied before my throat swelled shut. I had no idea and now the question was haunting me. Like her eyes in the picture.

Brynn was haunting me and has since the day she got kidnapped. It was my fault. We got separated at a party and I haven't seen her since. I lost my best friend to someone who held me when I cried and cheered for me when I won. I lost her to Brooke. And now, until I find her, I'm haunted.
