~~ She stood there unable to utter a word from her little body, still shocked at the sight in front of her. the white Royce Roll in front of her now had splatters of red covering its bumper and hood. the ground beneath her, organs crushed and some of them even on her blue fur jacket which was protecting her against the bitter December wind. should she scream or cry or even laugh, as the scenario unfolded, her body nor her mind new how to react.
Little Sierra Samuel's world was silenced that very day. Her laughter, the smile that brought many a happiness beyond compare, the shine in her eyes, it all disappeared. Her mother lost the battle to depression and finally ran under the car her uncle was test-driving at the racing track, attempting to take Sahara with her.~~
Her eyes watered at the memories, but she refused to let them conquer her, and forced a smile on her face. in her hand she held a mug of warm cocoa with whipped cream and tiny marshmallows, her most favorite drink in the world. She pace her room, with the book "Pride and Prejudice" imagining herself to be Elizabeth Bennet, wondering when a Mr. Darcy would walk into her life.
Her little dream was interrupted by a soft knock on her door. It slowly opened to reveal her best friend and translator, Faith Markson, smiling as she held up her hands and signed, asking what she up to. Smiling, Sierra lifted her book and showed her the cover of the book. "That book again? You have read it a million times. Don't you get tired?" Faith signed as she grabbed the book out of her hand."I am million percent sure you can read this book, every single line of it, by heart by now."Realizing the truth in what Faith said, a smile crept on her face, as signed her favorite line out of the book.
" It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. "
"You cheesy, cringe-worthy piece of a human" Faith signed at her, while she childishly stuck her tongue out. "Tell you what? Let's go to the book store, than to the mall and finish our Christmas shopping, get some cheesy pizza and some shakes and be sexy". Sierra looked around her room hoping to find any excuse to stay at home, in the warmth of her blanket and mug of cocoa, but Faith being who she is caught on her drift way too fast. "I have homework, and painting, and I wanna finish this." She signed hoping her best friend will leave her alone and go find her asshole of a boyfriend. "What if you find your Mr. Darcy at the mall today huh? What if today is the day he makes a wild entrance? Its nearly Christmas. And there is such a thing as a Christmas Miracle." Faith signed as she gave Sierra one hell of a convincing look, which made Sierra jump down from her window seat and rush at her huge walk in wardrobe.
Dane Samuel sparred no expense in spoiling his one and only daughter. He was Blessed with eleven sons and when he married Sierra's mother his only prayer was to be blessed with a daughter.
His prayer was answered yes, but he never expected his wife to fall into anti natal depression so badly. He never expected Samara to be the reason his beautiful daughter would lose her laughter and joyous voice. His eldest six sons, James, Carson, Nick,Steven, Alvin and Isaac, wanting to serve their countries had joined the firefighting department and he couldn't be less proud of them. They were handling business and working full time as firefighters. His seventh and eighth,Eric and Derick, are twins, and surgeons, both specialized in cardio thoracic & neurology. The youngest three, triplets, Sloan, Sven and Seth, are still in university, studying to either rule the business empire their father built or be successful in their own way. Dane never forced his children to train to handle his business or go in a specific field. He learnt a lesson from his own life, that his children's happiness will always be a first for him, even if he is left without an heir.
