If you’re wondering who that is laying there on the floor covered in blood. Well, that’s me. My name is Marley. I’m just over sixteen years old, barely surviving my sophomore year. See there’s this kid down the street. Twice the size of me. There’s no sugar coating this, he’s a bully and I happen to be his main target. See I happen to be bipolar. I know I know, a lot of people are, what makes me so special. Nothing. That’s just it. I’m not special. Sometimes I’m happy, then the next minute I’m sad. So what? So I choose to make a difference. I’m waking up from this haze that everyone seems to be in and Peter, that boy twice the side of me, wants me to stay asleep.
I’m on the floor because I was pushed there. That whole anti-bully campaign is all talk. A few of Peters friends ganged up on me. I’m a small sixteen year girl against five much larger two years older wrestlers. It’s no wonder I’m on the ground. The blood is because no one told Chris that knifes weren’t allowed in school and he had taken a good slice at my arm and another across my side.
What!?! The school let them get away with this?!? Well, ya. I have no money. I live in the poor part of town. Our teachers were more run down then our school. I think what lead to me being Bipolar was my conditions. Mom was a drug addict live with my dad. He is an alcoholic and is barely home. I have no living siblings left. I lost my brother last year. I’m going to tell you what happen just so I could move on. He was bullied just like me except he broke. My dad bullied him too so I don’t blame him. He killed himself the first day back to school last year. I spent three months in a mental hospital after that.
But no I’m back. Coming back to the real world was a wakeup call. First day back and there’s me laying on the floor of the hallway covered in blood. Welcome back Marley.
