This is the story of when I was left in the rain. It's not sad, well kind of sad but not that sad. Mostly funny. Well. It wasn't funny when it happened.
▪️▫️▪️
At my school there is a ukulele club after school. I decided to attend to try it out. I told my mom to pick me up after school. I guess I didn't make it clear enough.
▪️▫️▪️
I'm waiting outside of the school. She doesn't come. "I'll give her 5 more minutes I told myself. 5 minutes later.... She's not there. I pulled my phone out and it's dead. Great. Just great.
AND to add on to it all, it starts raining. It was one of those rains that you could be standing outside for 2 minutes and get soked. Kind of like in the movies. That morning it was warm so I didn't bring a jacket to school. Splendid.
▪️▫️▪️
I start to think of the what would be the best thing to do. I can't go back into the school to make a call because by this time all the teachers are gone.
Wait.
I know what to do....Clair's house is close to the school.
I start running.
I'm slipping and sliding through the mud and FINALLY I make it to her house. This is were it gets good.
▪️▫️▪️
I run up to her house and ring the doorbell. No answer. I ring it again. No answer. GOSH DARNIT CLAIR OPEN THE FREAKING DOOR. I'm soked by this time. Actually soked. Clair's naibors live really close to her house and let's just say that there on the more elderly side of the timeline. Like, really elderly. So, the old woman that lives there pokes her head out of her door. She starts speaking but I cannot hear a dang thing she is saying over the rain. And now she's making hand motions. Just great.
▪️▫️▪️
I honestly have no freaking idea what Claire is doing throughout this but one things for sure, she's not opening the door.
▪️▫️▪️
I wave to the lady thinking she's waving goodbye. She's not. Finally she shoutes over the rain. "GET UNDER THE EVES!!" ummmm. Well let's think logically about this. If I go under the Eves the Clair won't see me if she looks out the window to see who it is. So I'm not going to go under the eves. I turn around and I think the lady gets the idea that were done talking, well at least I was done.
▪️▫️▪️
Finally, finally, finally she opens the door.

And started laughing her head off. I can't blame her. Here I am soked on her doorstep.

Wonderful.
