"NO!"You bolt upright in bed, sweaty and entangled in a mess of sheets. It was just a dream, it was just a dream. Hugging your knees to your chest, you try to calm yourself down. None of that had really happened. You were fine, just fine.
The door opens a crack, making you jump. A drowsy looking Phil pops his head into your room. His hair is all messy and his glasses are a bit crooked. Cutie.
"Are you alright? I heard you yell," your boyfriend says.
"Oh, I'm fine," you lie. "Just a nightmare. Nothing to worry about."
Phil sits down next to you on the bed. His blue eyes study yours for a second before he puts his arms around you and pulls you close.
"No. No you're not."
You hug him back, burying your head in his shoulder. The heat that radiates off him calms you down and makes you feel safe.
After a moment Phil asks "Would you like to... talk about it?"
You proceed to tell him about your nightmare. Phil holds you the entire time. It's much easier to think about it when he's there.
When you finish, Phil gently kisses your hair.
"That's horrible! But you're alright now. I'm right here, and I always will be." Your heart swells with a warm happy feeling.
"Thanks Phil. You really are amazing." You pause, then whisper "I love you."
You can't see his face, but you can feel the smile on his lips as he kisses the top of your head once more.
"I love you too."
