//Max's POV//
I was just about to go to Sabrina's locker when I saw Cameron hurting her. "HEY STOP" I yelled, dropping all my stuff and sprinting towards her. Cameron ran away leaving Sabrina on the floor, unconscious. I put her head in my lap and held her cold, limp hand. I dialed 911 on my phone and waited.
//5 minutes later//
The medics pulled Sabrina into the ambulance on a stretcher. They asked if I wanted to go with her and I said yes. We drove to the hospital and they took her away into a room while I was stuck outside.
After waiting for a while I walked up to the front desk and asked if I could see her. The receptionist looked up at me through her thick glasses and frowned. "What's your relationship with her" she said still frowning. "I'm her boyfriend" I blurted out without thinking. "Ok, she's in room 424." I ran to the elevator and pressed the fourth floor. I walked through the door and saw her lying on the bed hooked up to a couple of wires. She looked so gorgeous. Wait max what are you saying, she's your best friend. If you date her and break up, your friendship will be ruined. I shook my head and stared at her. I stood their for about five minutes and was about to leave when I heard a soft voice. "Max?"
I spun around and saw Sabrina smiling widely at me. I ran to her and gave her a big hug. "I won't let him hurt you ever again" I said to her. "I will never leave you alone and I won't even let him get near you." She looked up and locked her hazel eyes with mine. "Thank you" she said softly. I started to lean in and so did she. Right as our lips were above to touch in came Harvey. We pulled back quickly. I looked over and saw Harvey trying to keep back a laugh. "Did I interrupt something" he asked laughing.
"Shut up Harvey" I said. "Ok" he said still laughing as he left the room. The doctors and nurses came in and got her ready to be discharged and they pushed me out of the room. We waited outside for a while silently.
Harvey looked up at me and smirked. "So....you and Sabrina huh." I stared at him with a cold expression on my face. "No" I said firmly. My heart hurt a little and I knew exactly why. Sabrina came out of the room and walked towards us. "Hi guys" she said smiling weakly. "Hey sabs are you sure your ok?" Harvey asked. "Yeah yeah I'm sure I'm just a little tired" she said. We walked to the car and got in. "So are you coming back to school tomorrow?" I asked. "No I'm staying home for two days" she replied. "Oh" I said, a little upset. We pulled up to her house and knocked on the door. Her mom, Rachel, opened the door. "Hi boys" she smiled at us. We walked up the stairs to her room and jumped on her bed. "So what do you guys wanna do" she asked. "Well it's five so we have about two hours until dinner" Harvey stated. "LETS GO RIDE OUR HOVER BOARDS TO THE FROZEN YOGURT SHOP" Sabrina jumped up and yelled. "YES" me and Harvey agreed. She took her hover board and we ran to our house to get ours. We rode them down to the frozen yogurt shop and went inside. Sabrina ordered a mint chocolate chip yogurt with chocolate toppings, Harvey customized his, and I just got a vanilla yogurt with gummy bears. Sabrina was about to give the cashier money, but I stepped in. "Allow me" I said and payed. "Your so sweet" Sabrina says and pinched my cheek. We sat down at a booth and ate. Just then a girl walked through the door. I knew exactly who she was. Maya-my ex. We dated for about two months and then she started to get possessive and stuff so I broke up with her. She walked over to me and smirked. "Hey max, miss me" she said. "Not really no" I honestly replied. Sabrina bursts out laughing. "Ew who is she" maya asks with a look on her face that's seems as if she just stepped in dog poop. I wrapped my arm around Sabrina "she is my best friend" I stated proudly. "Whatever" maya says. She spins on her heels and walks out. We go home and I'm still thinking about what to do with Sabrina. I really like her but I don't want to ruin our 14 year friendship. I know I can never let her go. I knew exactly what I was going to do next.
