I woke up to darkness. The air seemed still, creating an everlasting silence. No sound dared whispered a word. Even my own breath seemed to have gone creating an empty void. I tried to move but couldn't, invisible chains held me down tightly. Sudden flashes of what happened echoed, creating vivid images in my mind. The man waiting so patiently to corner his prey. My broken body withered on the ground, like a dead flower. The angel. There was something else edged into my mind. It was a blur. It seemed like I told myself never to forget. Now it was gone, only lingering faintly.
"Don't move my dear. Just wake up. It is a new day. Wake up."
I turned my head forcing pain through my body, from my perilous attack. I wanted to find the one who spoke. The voice seemed so clear and gentle, my saving angel. A soft hand caressed my face gently, scaring me enough to making my mind race. The heat burned my skin, yet there was no pain. Something brushed gently against my body.
"Come on my child of fire. Open your eyes. Wake up and meet your new life."
As though a spell was lifted light took over. The figure of a shirtless man beside me made my heart skip a beat. His toned body curved with engaging muscles, a tanned body with the most feelings. His straight blond hair gently touched his shoulders, eyes as green as emeralds to pierce my soul. His smile could melt everything with just one look. His hands seemed soft against my skin but they had a firm touch to them. He smiled again looking at me.
"Hey my dear child. It is about time you awaken. Come. Let's go meet your new family."
He gently wrapped his arms around my waist. Leaning in close he was inches from my face. The smell of pine lingered on his breath. Carefully he picked me up. I could hear his heartbeat, as beautifully as an Indian drum. I smiled slightly then looked where we were going. Walking down a narrow hall the lights seemed to fade. A door at the end of the hall seemed fit for a royal empire. Emeralds, diamonds, rubies, topaz, and other gems embedded in the stainless gold doors. I could hear the mumbles of voices, an echoing danger beyond the door. As the door opened I gasped. This was not real life, it couldn't be. I stared into the magical realm as the guy looked down at me.
"Welcome to your new family"
