"Aren't you excited for the sunrise kuya?" Bryle asked kuya Xander.

"Yeah.. Really excited.." he answered.

"What's even exciting with watching the sunrise?" Bryle asked kuya again.

"You don't know what's beautiful watching the sun rises?" kuya asked Bryle while looking at the sea and waiting for the sun to rise.

We're at Kuya Xander's favorite beach. His last favor is to watch the sunrise. His last favor is his 5th stair to heaven. I looked at him. He's sincerely happy. And I can see he's ready to climb up his 5 stairs to heaven. He'll just wait for minutes until sunrise and all the stairs are completed. And after that, he's ready to leave us.

"Why kuya? What's good with it?" Bryle ask kuya with an innocent look.

"Because being able to see the sunrise is a gift from God." and he looked at the sea. "If you saw the sunrise, God gave you a chance to live one more day. He gave you one more day to be with the one you love. So.. I'm thankful I'll have the chance to see sunrise.."

And right after his words, the sun rises. I took a picture of it. We also took a family picture with a sunrise as a background.

"It's beautiful..." we said in unison.

We ate our breakfast with smiles in our faces. We are also laughing hard to keep our eyes from crying.

"*sigh* The stairs are completed.." hearing what he said made me look at him.

"So,What are you planning now?" I asked him.

Bryle was playing on the sand. And I saw that mom and dad was listening to what we are talking about.

"I can't leave you.." and a tear fall from his eyes. "I don't want to leave you now. You're happy. I want to stay much longer. I must stay and protect you. I don't want you to cry for my loss.." his voice are starting to break.

"It's okay.. If you're hurting too much, you can rest. If you can't take it anymore... Then," I gasped so I can speak clearly. "You can rest now.. I-I can't take to see you... h-hurting.. It kills me to see you in that state. P-please.. If you want to rest, don't mind us.. W-we'll u-understand.." I hugged him.

We hugged there for minutes. And I just feel mom, dad and Bryle are also hugging us.

"A--ahhh!!!!!" we were back to our senses when Kuya Bryle hold his head and started shouting.

"Xander! Xander please fight!" mom told kuya while hugging him.

"Kuyaaa!!" Bryle started to cry. It hurts to see him crying and fighting for his life.

We drive him to the hospital. When we reached the hospital, the nurses hurriedly take my brother to the emergency room.

"Mom, dad, Bryle, Jess... I love you.."

And that is the last words he said before the door closes. We were all praying for him to be cured. Not just to wake up but to wake up cured.

I know it's hard for him. I know he's fighting with death now. But I still hope he'll be cured and live with us. I still want to have a kuya who's always there for me. I need him. I didn't even say 'I love you kuya' so I need him to wake up and hear my words.

A tear fell from our eyes with what we heard..

That words sent shivers to my spine.. My brother.. He left us. It was like a knife stabbed in my heart. After hearing those words, I burst out crying. I can't believe he'll leave us in this situation. It hurts so much.

The doctor told us to have one last look before they fix my brother.

"Kuya!" I hugged his cold body. "I love you kuya. I'm sorry I did nothing to help you when you're in pain. Thank you for the times we've spent together. I hope you're happy now. You're free from pain and suffering. I hope you're happy coz pain won't hunt you anymore. Kuya... I'll miss you.." with one last look and hug, I left the room.

"Before he die, he told me to give this to you. Here..." and the doctor handed me the necklace of my brother with a key as a pendant. "He want you to take charge and care of it. I hope you knew where's that key is for.." and he left.

I hurriedly go to my brother's room and opened the locked room...

"Oh God.. It's beautiful.."

That's what only I can say when I saw the works of him. I saw myself when I graduated high school, Bryle, mom and dad in their anniversary date, our dream house which we designed together, himself, his favorite beach, Candy - our dog, and what catches my attention the most is...
