Chapter 6

When I returned downstairs after the scene with Lyall I was pretty sure I had used up all the hot water in the entire house. Everyone was in the kitchen and as soon as I entered, everyone's eyes turned to me. Great. Trying my best to ignore the stairs I walked to the fridge to see if there was anything worth cooking, I hadn't eaten properly in a month and a half and let me tell you I was starving even after the deer I had last night in wolf form. I pulled out almost everything the fridge contained to make my breakfast, which consisted of bacon, sausage, egg, beans and pancakes. I also made double servings of everything so I was basically serving an army, but hey I'm not complaining, being a werewolf means I have an extremely fast metabolism, so I can eat huge amounts and not gain an ounce of weight.

As I finished eating I noticed once again that everyone was staring at me. Whether it was the amount of food I had eaten, I had no idea but I do know is that I am sick of their eyes constantly staring at me when my back is turned. I growled out loud my eyes flashing to their ice blue in warning. As soon as I had let my beast out I instantly felt better, before I had arrived here, no matter where I was I tried to let my beast out, whether it be my emotions or changing completely and going for a hunt. It hadn't occurred to me before now how I had truly missed my inner self these past weeks, even though I did try to deny any feelings towards my wolf.

Once I had completely cleared my plate I went to clean up all the pots I had used while cooking my breakfast, once I had finished I decided that it was perfect weather for a run. Although the majority of people who just took a beating like I did would be resting in bed not going into the woods to run, that is where the good thing about being a werewolf comes in. Although essentially our healing time is shit compared to other mythical creatures like vampires, we can build up energy over a long period of time and use it for healing injuries that are sustained in either human or wolf form. So the few months were I wasn't shifting as regularly as I normally do, I managed to save up the energy that would normally be used for shifting for healing my injuries for the beating I got from Lyall even though I did kick his ass. And why didn't you use that energy for healing a broken arm you might ask, well simple, I wasn't a hundred percent sure my family were werewolves and secondly it takes to much energy to heal broken bones, thus we just use it for trivial injuries if need be.

So I went up to my room, found a pair of sports shorts and a matching sports crop top with an in built bra. I grabbed my iPod and phone of the table, placing my iPod in one of those arm holders on my arm and my phone my pocket. I went down to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water out the fridge, I tended to get carried away while I went running and lose track of time easily. Looking up I noticed that everyone was once again staring at me, but this time I was sure it was my attire rather than the beating up a wolf twice my size or eating tons of food and this time their mouths were almost touching the floor.

"You know, you might catch flies if you leave your mouths open like that" I said as I was walking out the back door.

"Oh and I will be back later, I'm going for a run" and with that I took off running towards the woods, with my earphones in and iPod on full blast.

Adrenaline was coursing through my veins, my feet hitting the ground in synchronization with my heartbeat as ran through the abandoned forest. It had been hours since I had set off this morning and I was running low on water, as I ran I couldn't help but notice how quiet the forest sounded. Of course I could still hear the sounds of the animals and bugs through the music playing on my iPod; they were so lively and at peace. The nature here had not yet been disturbed by human life and their passion to destroy, no it was tranquil and understanding, that in the forest everything has a spirit or soul and it should be treated respectfully even if it is your prey.

It felt like I was running through a giant obstacle course, jumping over trees, avoiding bushes if my family saw me now they would probably think I was a were monkey rather than wolf, but what is the point in running in a straight line and know where you're going, when you can make your own path, your own journey. Plus this was way more fun.

I started to slow down when I heard the running of water. Hopefully there would be a stream or river nearby for me to rest a while and possibly think. I couldn't help but start to feel like I belonged here, maybe a lone wolf can gain a pack after being alone for so long. It was just so hard to accept that I had a completely separate life away from my mother. I had always thought it would be the two of us forever and living with so many territorial people who didn't want me there was very difficult.

Focusing my attention once again on the forest surrounding me, took out my earphones to see if I was getting any nearer to the flow of water. I paid attention to the colours of the wild flowers and the vibrant greens of the trees and bushes. It was all so different from when I was last in woodland like this; it seemed so long ago when the forest was covered in pure white snow. Now you could feel the heat of the midday sun, and feel it rays making its way past the barrier of high top trees to the forest floor.

After about a ten minute walk I found myself in such a beautiful place that the only way it could exist is with the help of magic. High above me was a fast flowing water fall, at least thirty foot high, along the rocks were plants but what caught my attention most was the symbols that were intricately in graved in the rocks on both sides of the waterfall. Some of the symbols looking strangely familiar yet in my mind I could not find where I had seen them in my past. Diverting my attention away from the waterfall, I found myself speechless of the beauty of this paradise before me. It seems where the river ends with the waterfall, the lake begins in it magnificence. The whole lake was a clear deep blue, so pure and uninfected with the poisons of modern day living, the surrounding plants and flowers untouched by uncaring hikers and striving in their elegance.

I knew that this would be a place I would visit often, not only in my dreams but in reality also. I could feel the presence of something unknown yet it calmed my mind, body and spirit. I could be free here to have peace with no interruptions and to let go without any repercussions.

I walked towards the edge of the lake and stared at my dirt caked face staring back at me. I couldn't tell how long I stood there staring but when I finally looked away out my chance I had already made my decision. Stepping a reasonable distance away from the edge I took my phone out my pocket and turned my iPod of and releasing the arm holder. Then I pulled the crop top off my chest letting my breasts visible to any one there which of course isn't. I took my trainers and socks of next and then last but not least my shorts and underwear. Now completely naked my slim yet curvy body on show for all too see if anyone were to be here, I ran up to the lake in case I changed my mind. As I entered I shivered from the cold yet refreshing temperature, as soon as I was deep enough I swam underwater running my arms over my body to scrub away the dirt caked into my skin from my run.

Once I pushed myself back up to the surface I started to swim around in the lake, at times going as deep as could. When I felt myself getting tired I pushed myself one last time towards the waterfall. I had always held a curious streak in me and I wanted to find out if there was anything behind the waterfall other than a rock face. When finally reaching my destination I stayed under the direct flow of water, letting the forceful water push down on me, it amazed me how something so natural can be so rough. Moving on blindly through the water I felt for the rock face with my hands, slowly moving them along the moss covered rocks until I finally met nothing but thin air. As I moved forward I opened my eyes to see what I had been hoping to find. It was a large cave that had shimmering reflections of light from the suns reflected of the water. I was so happy that I could have a place to myself without anyone knowing a thing about it.

When I finally returned from the cave I swam underwater until I reached the edge of the lake, walking slowing out of the like I felt myself smile at my rebellious nature and at doing something that was so unlike me. I was so engrossed in my thoughts however that I hadn't noticed the extremely tall, well built and muscular person that was obviously male standing exactly where I had place my things. The brightness of the sun blocked out his face stopping me from identifying the person who was now obviously staring at my completely naked body.
