" Floor 3" The elevator chimed.
I stepped out of the elevator and made my way to the DA (District Attorney) office. I knocked on his door.
" Come in " a voice called from inside the room.
I opened the door and walked in, shutting the door behind me.
" Take a seat" The DA said, nodding to the empty seat in front of his desk.
I took a seat and pulled out my files and placed them on the DA's desk. My file included things like my degrees, birth certificate, criminal, medical and history records and stuff like that.
" Valerie Cain," He muttered to himself quietly, " are you the new homicide dectective?" The DA asked without looking up.
" Yes, and I am also a crime scene analyst, i-if that helps" I say stuttering a bit.
" Depends what your case is," the DA said quiet bluntly " now, before I introduce you to your partner, case and team. You will call me Mr District Attorney or Mr Smith" Mr Smith finished.
Mr Smith got up and walked towards to door.
" Follow me" He said before walking out the door.
We walked past all the offices and Mr Smith showed me where everything was. This was a massive building. One floor for offices, another full of labratories, plus one upstairs will conference rooms. We got into the elevator and went up.
" Floor 4" the elevator voice said.
The doors opened, Mr Smith and I walked out. We entered a room with a large table with about 7 other people. Everyone was talking and discussing the latest case.
" Everyone " Mr Smith said and everyone went silent.
" This "He began waving his hand to me, " Is Valerie Cain and she is a homicide dective as well as a crime scene analsyt " He finished.
" Let me introduce you to your partner and team. " The DA said, making his way across the room.
" This," He started, tapping the young man on the shoulder, who looked about 25 years old. " is Detective -"
" Bentley " I cut him off.
" Yes, have you guys met?" the DA asked confused.
" We bumped into each other earlier this morning " Bentley said.
Mr Smith smiled bluntly and nodded his head as if he were to say ' congrats for meeting already'.
" Let's introduce you to the rest of your team, shall we?" The DA asked with a sly look on his face.
