1. No Time For That

As I'm driving home it starts to pour and the thumping of rain is deafening. Well this is just great.

I swiftly glide around the corner and stop at the light. The old convenient stores are dimly lit and are for the most part deserted.

In no time the light illuminates a bright green and I continue driving. I only got my driver's license a few weeks ago but it feels as if I'm a pro driver already.

Finally after a couple twists and turns I'm home. I grab my backpack and pull my hoodie on tight.

I race up the steps and into my house.

"Mom I'm home!" I screech.

My mother comes whizzing out of the hall and shoves a list into my face.

"Great will you go to the grocery store and get this? Thanks, love you. Im off to work and won't be back till around...well late. Thanks again bye," she rushes.

Before I can protest, she's already halfway down the street.

I guess it's back out through the rain for me.

The drive to the store didn't take long. I grab my umbrella and dash toward the entrance.

Shredded cheddar cheese

Cottage cheese

Mayonnaise

Bacon

Milk

Pack of gum

Fruit

Granola

Baby powder

I throw all of the items in my cart, but I couldn't find the baby powder.

"Hey do you know where the baby powder is?" I ask. But as the guy turns, I realize he isn't a worker.

"Oh sorry I thought you worked here," I say. I turn away but before I can he stops me.

"Wait! I can help you look," he smiles.

I hadn't really taken in his appearance before but he was very attractive. He had brown hair, he was tall and tan and looked very muscular. His face was perfect too.

"Well if you want. I'm Cameron," he introduced. He gave me a look like I should know who he is.

"Ariana. Nice to meet you." I shake his hand and then start walking around aisles looking for the powder so I can leave.

"Why do you need baby powder?" he questions.

"Sister," I reply.

"Oh okay. Wel- Oh here it is!" he grabs the little bottle and hands it to me.

"Thanks," I smile.

"Well I should really get going I have to pick my sister up from daycare. It was nice to meet you," I say beginning to walk away.

"Wait, can I has yo numba?"

"Excuse me?" I glare.

"Oh so you really don't know who I am. Haha sorry," he awkwardly laughs.

"Oh. Sorry I don't. I really need to go now though," I finalize.

"Okay. Maybe we could, you know, hangout sometime?" he asks.

Can't believe this guy's nerve.

"Here I'll give you my number and when you're ready, you can call me and we can chill sometime."

Well he is attractive...and he is trying. Maybe I'll give it a try. I hand him my iPhone and he puts his number in.

Before I can walk away he hugs me like a bear. I had this strange feeling in the pit of my stomach but I liked it.

"Well I guess I might call you sometime. By-" I get cutoff by two screaming girls.

"What the-?" I look at him. He's smiling and walking towards the girls.

"Gotta go. Call me!" he screams over the girls.

As I'm walking to the cash registers I hear the screeches continue.

"OMG! IT'S CAMERON! AHHH I LOVE YOU CAMERON! AHHH OMG CAMERON DALLAS!"

So that's why he thought I should know who he is.

I checkout and walk to back to my car.

People are weird...
