Emily and Lunete made their way back to Emily's bedroom, since their job with the water was finished, they had loads of free time. Without electricity, there would be no TV, or radio or light. Since there was nothing much to do Emily decided to go to bed, leaving Lunete in charge of the house for a bit. Emily knew she wouldn't sleep though, the storm was quieting down a bit, but not enough.

"Em, you asleep yet?" Lunete calls from the doorway,

"Nope, I'm just having a lie down really," Emily replies groggily. Outside the window there was another flash and a terrible explosion of thunder. Emily and Lunete felt the building shake beneath them. But as they listened, they heard something that wasn't thunder above them,

"Did you hear something?" Emily asked, she was starting to get worried. The sound came again, it was much louder this time. It was like there was something big and very heavy hitting on the roof.

"There's definantly something up there." Lunete pondered, "maybe a piece of the antenna from the Empire State building hit the roof,"

"Or maybe the garden shed got knocked over or something." Emily suggested, she grabbed her flashlight and moved it around the room. She stopped when she came across a large crack in the roof, and the overhead light was swinging on it's cord.

"WHAT!?" Lunete screamed as she saw chipped paint coming of the ceiling, the light was sure to come down. "Maybe we should see what's up there?"

"No, there's nothing up there." Emily assured, "But maybe we should check it out... just in case." Emily drew on her rain coat and gave her spare to Lunete, she grabbed her apartment keys and they made for the door. Lunete had grabbed Emily's baseball bat, Emily gave her a concerned look,

"What? We might need it, for all we know there could be an apocalypse or something!" Lunete said as he made her way to the door. They climbed the stairs, there were lots of people out side their apartments. Maybe they heard the noise too.

"This isn't smart, Lunete." Emily warned, "There's lightning up there!"

"We're out here now, so there's no point in going back!" Lunete said confidently. They climbed up more stairs, until they reached the door to the roof, Emily put the key in the hole and turned it. As soon as she did the wind caught it and it flew open.

"So much for being quiet," Lunete mumbled to herself as she stepped onto the roof. Emily started to shine her flashlight around the area, suddenly movement caught the light,

"Whoever you are, come out!" Emily shouted, Lunete raised Emily's bat, prepared to use it on anything nasty. A blinding flash of light hit the roof, lighting up the whole area, what they saw on the roof was unbelievable.

"WOW!" Lunete breathed, "This can't be real!" Emily shone the light around again an it landed on the same unbelievable sight, it was very real. A huge white horse was lying on it's side, the flashlight glinted on something shiny. When Emily realized what it was she was shocked.

"It's real gold," Lunete was astonished. The beam of light shone a large, feathered thing that was attached to the horse, it was a wing. A massive wing to be precise, and it was covered in mud, leaves and other garden debris.

"No, this is impossible!"  Emily cried. More lightning hit the rooftop making what Emily and Lunete saw even more real. A white with golden hooves and massive wings was lying on top of Emily's apartment roof. They stared at the animal in disbelief. The wing on the horse's side move, followed by a shriek of pain. The animal was in agony. Emily and Lunete rushed over to the horse to see if it was alright.

"It's all right, we won't hurt you!" Lunete soothed as she approached the winged horse. The horse tried to rise but screamed again,

"Wait! we can help you!" Emily cried as the horse screamed another time. The horse's wing was trapped beneath it's body.

"If we go around and push on your back, will you get up?" Emily asks the horse, the horse nods its head as if it could understand her. Emily and Lunete placed their hands firmly on the horse's back and pushed with all the strength they could master.

"Now!" Lunete grunted, the horse started to get up. Lunete felt her knees slip beneath her.

"Keep going you can do it!" Emily urged as the horse was almost fully standing.

"Yay!" Lunete squealed, she was happy about their achievement, suddenly a name sprung into her mind. A name long forgotten from old myths she used to read.

"It's really you isn't it?" Lunete whispered to the horse, hoping it could understand her, "You're Pegasus. I mean the real Pegasus."

Emily stepped foreward to the horse,

"He's Pegasus..." The stallion seemed to pause for a moment, then he nudged Emily's hand. Lunete stroked him on the back. In that instant Emily knew that her world was changing, and so did Lunete.

It was changing... forever.
