Prologue; 1612

Fire,so much fire. And blood, the grass was swamped with blood and guts, and I couldn't remember who's it was. My covens,or the hunters?

Screams of women were echoing throughout the town as I walked gracefully through the chaos,my black silk dress sweeping across limbs and intestines. A few tears trickled down my cheeks as my plump lips trembled,my silky black hair cascaded down my back and blew behind me with the wind. My hearing sounded capped, like everything went mute, but I could still hear the ongoing scene. Too many of us were dying, being killed off like cattle. I dropped to my knees, into the the gory mess.

"Why?!" I cried out into the massacre,I cried out to our creator. I could hear the throats being ripped apart, the stomachs being slit so deep the human anatomy would pour out. Men chased women, daggers held high. So far I've dodged 3 of them. But a man about 19,my age approached me and stopped right in front of me.

"What is your part in the coven?" Giving up and not caring I replied,

"For I am the devil of this sorcery." I held up my wrists as the tears trickled down my cheeks. The boy tied my hands together and lifted me up. Picking my feet off the ground.

"I am ever so sorry to do this." He whispered.

"Oh it's quite alright, yet I can't tell you much. Torture me all you want."

"Well for you are the Devil of the coven only you will be killed for the others have confessed. The hunter will do it."I sighed and closed my eyes to the darkness clouding me. It was his fault,it was my loves fault.

I woke up in a grotty cell, dry blood coating me. I could smell the death cloaking the prison,I groaned and clicked all my bones in place. A whistle echoed through the room,I looked at Damien,Lucifers son. sitting against the wall. He was observing the cob webbed box of a room. I groaned and lifted my head high.

"Hello." I said.

"Greetings my dearest beauty." He smiled at me. He was gorgeous,my age with long black hair which was tied up in a leather strap at the nape of his neck,he had dark grey eyes and pale skin, soft plump lips and a beautiful body. He wasn't even a bad person when you got to know him.

"How many are dead?" I gulped.

"All of them." I let out a small sob.

"Did you drink the Immortality potion?" He came and sat next to me. I nodded my head.

"Then you will live through the pain." I let out a deep breath and looked at the ceiling.

"But before the others died, they called for me. They asked me to take there powers and give them to you,and to give you some of mine too."

"Why?"

"Revenge is sweet. My love, remember this you are mine as am I yours. I love you,and will always be with you. Torture will be harsh but you are greater and braver than they. We will meet again." He smashed his lips to mine, and as we kissed he released the power of my dear and some of his own. I pulled away and breathed in deeply. His eyes were now pure black,he kissed my neck and then my cheek and whispered to me.

"We will meet again,my love." He stood up as I said to him.

"I love you."

"Just as I,love you." I drifted to sleep as he vanished,my body was still recovering from the potion and now all of the power which cascaded through my body was burning like fire. I could feel all my bones hardening, and my skin toughening. All my joints were on fire,my heart was beating so slowly and even my breath shortened. And then I died.

Big hands tightened around my arms like a vice. I woke up from my slumber to see two men lifting my body and carrying me out of the cell.

"She's awake." One of the men said, they dropped me onto my back as I hissed in pain for my back was aching from last night.

"Walk witch." The other spat at me,I stood on wobbly legs. My bare feet already numb from the freezing floor. I put one in front of the other yet every step I took made my knees bend in opposite directions. I felt like a newborn on ice. As I was walking between the men I lifted my cuffed hands to my chest to search for a pulse,no luck so I tried my neck and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't find a single beat. I was dead? I felt fine though, felt more energetic than ever,I wasn't a bit sleepy. I smiled my pearly whites,I was now invincible. With more power and immortality I was basically a god. I laughed, laughed really loud so loud it caused the men to hiss at one another.

"She's seeing spirits." I cackled now and span around and skipped out of the block with the two ogres close behind me.

"Stop that!" I ignored them and skipped to the stairs to the top of the stake where I'd be 'dying'.I instantly recognised the hunter with the stupid hat and stupid face and stupid everything. I waved at him and skipped up the creaky wooden stairs. He gave me an odd look as he came over and tied me up to the stake. The rope was so tight I couldn't breath, but I didn't need to anymore. I just flashed a smile. I'm gonna be fine. I was very confident in my survival.

Chants erupted through the crowd at bottom, beckoning for the fire to be lit. Large pieces of wood were set alight and dropped on the cluster of branches and planks at my feet. I counted as the more flaming wood was propped around me. 12 pieces, let's say it started getting rather hot. I thought of a bubble enveloping my body,a protective bubble,I conjured this with my large quantity of magic, the golden orange flames licked around the bubble leaving me in perfect shape. It was also rather cool in the bubble,so I was fine with it. Everyone thought I was being burnt,so they evacuated there gawping points and left the wild fire alight. Until only the judges and the hunter along with the fighters and some of the people who gave statements were left standing, staring as the fire increased. REVENGE was all I could think of now,I imagined the flames shooting from the stake and wrapping itself around the watchers,a little strand on each persons waist burning at there flesh. I heard all the pained screams as my magic obeyed me,I pictured the flames spreading and growing encasing there bodies until only there heads were left visible. Excitement, pleasure and joy shook through my bones as demonic screaming and cries were pointed at me. I laughed with and evil tone as I imaging the flames covering there'd heads and burning there hair, through the skin, the muscle, and the bone. Until only ash stood where my enemies were only about three minutes ago. I quickly defused the fire and popped my bubble, after shrugging out of my now burnt rope I ran. Ran away from the village, ran away from the stake, from my memories, from everything. Only my magic was with me,helping me along the way.
