Chloe Roberts walks by wearing bright blue eye shadow and hot pink lipstick. The classic makeup mistake many middle schoolers tend to make. My best friend Gemma shuts her locker and looks at me.
"You know sometimes I hate the fact that you're so good at makeup already," Gemma sighs. I smile at this compliment, and assess my mascara and concealer in my locker mirror. Thankful everything is blended to hide the acne that plagues everyone in my grade.
"My mom taught me, she used to do pageants back when she was a teenager," I explain with a shrug. My mom says it helped her gain confidence, so she taught me to help me get through puberty.
"Well I wish my mom would teach me. She thinks I'm too young to be wearing makeup," Gemma states. Gemma's mom Heather is always overprotective. Gemma even has an eight o'clock bedtime and we're in eighth grade.
"Oh Heather.. I can always teach you, or I could do your makeup for you," I suggest.
"Just wait until high school! Then we have homecoming and prom, you can do our makeup for those dances," Gemma sighs lost in her high school daydream.
"Yeah, prom," I reply as I too think of prom and makeup.

This is my first time writing on wattpad so please keep that in mind while reading this. I'm going to have a friend of mine edit it as I go or after I post to keep up with updates but feel free to point out any errors!
Thanks so much for giving this a chance!
