"All the darkness of the night is no match for a single candle that refuses to die out."

It was an average morning. I woke up having a weird feeling though, knowing that a whiny brat is waiting for me in highschool and it was a cue for me to get ready to handle all the crap I will go through this year.

Being a senior isn't real trouble for me. But when you can guarantee that anytime, any day, you are expecting to be kicked out of school for no absolute reason then yes that's trouble.

I sighed running a hand through my tangled up hair and groaned in frustration when knots wrapped around my fingers and I got my hand stuck.

I probably looked like some psycho, pulling her hair out so I moved away from the window and hardly untangled my fingers. Deciding for a shower, I washed and scrubbed my body and as soon as I was done I got dressed quickly before I ran late for school.

I rushed downstairs swinging my backpack on my shoulder and stopped to the front door midway.

"CHASE!" I yelled dramatically.

After few moments of hearing footsteps and something falling and stumping on the parquet he answered.

"WHAT?!"

"Get your silly ass down here! I am going to be late because of you, moron!" I yelled back boredly.

He got downstairs stumping and rolling his eyes continuously.

I gave him a weird look.

"If you don't stop, your eyes are going to get stuck to your forehead."

"Really nice sis, so kind." He answered sarcastically.

"If you think I am kind to you, then I must have done something wrong." I replied with a fake smile.

"Let's just leave. You are so-" He began but I cut him off with a smirk.

"Incredible? Gorgeous? Clever? Supremely sexy?"

He did a face and gagged.

"Jesus, please, just stop. Whatever you want but don't make me listen to your egoistic assumptions about yourself. It personally disgusts me."

"Whatever helps you sleep at night, but don't think I don't know about your denial." I winked.

He gagged again and shivered in fake disgust walking out the door and over to my car.

I got in the driver's seat, and he sat next to me. I drove us to his college which neighboured O'Dowd High. I parked at the from of the entrance and my brother didn't waste time and stormed out of the car to one of his friends.

His hair was blonde, very light celery green eyes. It's the mere features I could see from here. He immediately grinned at Chase and they went off inside, the blonde pulling an olive skinned woman under his arm.

I rolled my eyes and my eyes set on Chase's assignment he had forgotten. Shit. Seriously? Now? Why do I have to be a good sister?

I sighed and looked around through the window for him but there was no sign.
