The next day Nanna drove me to school, where all looked normal. Evony ran to me and gave me a large hug. She had a face that looked like she was seeing if I was ok.

"Thank you for texting me, I was worried sick," Evony said exasperatedly.

"No prob, I would tell you anything," I reassured her.

The day went as normally as it could, until lunch the doors to the cafeteria burst open and in ran my parents with an officer. My mother pointed to me with a glint in her eye. I knew they were here to take me home, at least I can grab my things from home and run back to nanna's.

"There she is officer. She ran away from home without letting us know where she was going." My mother pointed and everyone in the cafeteria started staring at me like I murdered someone.

"I didn't do anything!" I cried, "I was just staying at my friend's house. Right, Evony?!" I looked at Evony with concern.

"Yes, Scarlett was just staying at my house last night," Evony confirmed.

"I even texted my mom yesterday telling her where I was going," I told the officer.

"Did she or didn't she ma'am?" The officer asked my mother.

"She didn't text she called me." My mother retorted.

"Then you lied to an officer of the law, I leave you with a warning ma'am the next time this happens I might not let you off the hook so easy." The officer said sternly.

My mother thanked the officer many times before he left the room. My father coming to me and grabbing my wrist with a tight grip and dragging me out of the cafeteria and outside to the car. My father shoved me into the backseat of the car without a word and he and my mother got in the front and put the key into the ignition.

"Why, Scarlett? Why? Huh? First your hair, and now you run away. We know what you did last night we have cameras on Evony's house. You better watch what you do young lady." My father yelled.

"I hate you guys! You changed, what happened?!" I screamed.

"Nothing happened to us Scarlett, we just have always been this way!" I knew my mother was lying. It was easy to tell if she was telling the truth or lying. It has gotten harder from her mood change but I can still depict it.

"When we get home you are going to your room. And not coming out until it's time for school tomorrow. Understood?"

"Yes sir," I replied. I had a plan to get out of the house. I just hoped it would work.

That night I tossed and turned in my bed, hungry from no dinner, upset at what happened at school. I just wanted to get out of the house and live somewhere else. The only thing that could get my mind off my parents was texting Evony.

Evony? U there?

Evony999

Ya, what's up?

Scar257

I have a plan!

Evony999

What is it?

Scar257

Tomorrow I'm going to pack my suitcases with all of my things and go to my nanna's.

Evony999

How will your parents not know?

Scar257

Tomorrow I tell them that it's equipment for a science project. I go live with my nanna and I would have to transfer schools. I can't go to your house anymore because my parents put camera's up there and I would be seen. At least we only have one more year of high school.
